Good outcome.

To lose him for nothing at this stage would be a waste of a former first round pick and someone who we need to give more time for what will hopefully be a Mackie-like coming of age.

Good call. The more you think about it, so many established players we've got took about 3-5 years to really click. Hopefully next year will be the same for Tenace.

I still think we haven't seen anywhere near the best of him.

Always seems to have a great start to the year then falls away.

If he could keep his body right for a whole year he could make something of himself. Still needs to fix his disposal though.

someone has to just train him day and night how to drop the pill onto his boot. a very weird and ineffective motion at the moment.

I'm firmly convinced he's got the skills. I saw him in a practise match hit 55m passes all game on either foot running at top speed. Must be some kind of confidence thing at the top level.

Was making good progress before being cut down with injuries. Now has a 2yr contract so obviously figures in Bomber's plans.
If he can improve his decision making (which I think leads into poor disposal ) he will cement a regular spot in the team.

Confidence, technique and pressure.

Like you Partridge, I've seen him excel at VFL level.

He doesn't have the confidence at AFL level. Partly to do with being in and out of the team.

His technique is awkward as has been pointed out. My opinion is that his technique works fine at lower levels of footy because the level of pressure isn't as great. Once he steps up to the top level, that technique peculiarity is exposed.

I still think he can make it. He played 3-4 good AFL games this year. Just needs to build on it and develop in the areas mentioned.

He is lucky to get a 2yr deal based on history so obviously they see something in him that we dont. Having said that, Mackie and Woj were on their last chance this year and came through with the goods so hopefully next year will be the year. He's the type of player that can make people around him look like they're in slow motion but his disposals always let him down.

yeah, his first season against richmond at the dome he was flying down the wing then tight against the boundary pinged one from 40-45m out.

it is there, just how to untap that talent?

I actually think that is a good idea.

If the club was willing to try sending rooke to germany why not give hypnotism a go. cant hurt. If some people think it can help with addiction (smoking) and phobias might help him and wouldn't be a great expense. I would also give it to a few other players like NAblett and Varcoe to raise there confidence in attacking the ball.

Sometimes it does take a bit for a player to develop; he deserves another chance, I think. Just need to get some confident in him; should play him all throughout the pre-season, throw him in hard, see what he is made of. If he can get going good, would be a very handy player to have.

They don't come Geelong's way often, so I don't think we'd just delist a number 10 pick.
Disagree - draft number is irrelevant once the draft is over. From then on it's based on what the player does. That's why I reckon St Kilda is overrated cos everyone thinks the players must be better than they are because they were low draft picks.
