Lily is gorgeous!

Don't people look at the meaning of names, anymore?
When we named our kids we looked at the meaning of the names we were considering for no other reason than they were there in the book we were using to find names

Ultimately the meaning didn't factor into our decision at all and I couldn't tell you what the names Courtney, Jordan, Calvin, Troy, Paige, Elias, Hayley or Melita mean

I don't have 8 kids, just four and that's their names in no particular order

We've finally agreed on a first and middle name for our daughter, but have to keep it from the father-in-law until after birth because he hates any first name that can also be a last name, and both are :D

Beerfish what does the papa have to say about Blaise and Mabel?
Haven't spoken to him yet. I'll keep you posted. :handfist:

Unless Beerfish has French background, it just wouldn't seem right. It's a masculine name as well.
No French. Strictly United Kingdomish (read as yes there's some Irish).
I agree on both those points but its not like those sorts of things stop people these days (and it sounds like Beerfish's sister is one of those people)
I'm really going to find out something new about my sister here potentially. I can't believe she'd seriously name a poor little girl Mabel or Blaise in 2016. Come. On.

Amber McDonald (Mrs Aussie Home Loans) has children Avalon and Slade.
Avalon at least shortens to Ava

There was a media article ages ago about babies named after place names - Sydney isn't too bad, there were a few Melbourne's but I guess that just shortens to Mel.

Feel sorry for Warrnambool - even shortened the kid is just "Warney"

And Slade could get called Noddy.
