I've never heard of it before, but after a bit of research it looks it like may have originated from India.

However, the name Ajay (pronounced ah-jay), is much more common.
Ajay spelled differently so us Aussies pronounce it properly.

Yes, of course ....it'd be a pretty rare occurrence. Absolutely possible but highly unlikely.
 
saw an article in the Herald Sun today about one of the Neighbours cast, her name is Mavournee.

Can't say I'm familiar with anyone else sharing that name.
6 people in the US have this name. 4 in Texas 1 each in Florida and California

Mavourneen is a more common spelling and is Irish.
 
Reminds me of Philip Gidley King (third Governor of NSW) who had two illegitimate sons with a convict woman and he named them Sydney and Norfolk o_O (He was stationed on Norfolk Island at the time).
