Why do some parents treat the naming of their child so flippantly? This one above takes the cake. In our family you are given a name because your parents like it or you are named after a respected family member (usually a middle name though). No one is named after a favourite actor, racing car driver, singer, a character in a film/TV show or a bloody foodstuff!!!! I would feel like I was being treated as a joke if my parents named me Cookie because my mum craved them during pregnancy. I seriously can't imagine what these people are thinking
Same.

I was going to get Frederick but in the last few weeks my mother decided against it because she feared Fred would make me stand out too much in primary school.

A real pity. Frederick isn't a boys name but it is a mans name and I'm sure I'd be a very disciplined and hard working person if my name was Frederick

The funniest thing about Khaleesi is these idiots don't understand it isn't even the character's name. "Khaleesi" is a title, it's like calling your child Queen. ******* morons.

The sort of person that would name their child Khaleesi is unlikely to be able to spell Khaleesi or Daenerys let alone understand what the words represent.

There isn't enough Graham's getting around today, your little boy growing up can't go wrong with a stout name like Graham.
That was my old man's name, and spelt the right way too - not this 'Graeme' bullshit you see now and then. Fantastic name, Graham :thumbsu:

I remember working in the maternity wards last year and had a list of all the mothers' names. I knocked on the door of this one mother and had to double take at her name. It was Cheslea. Yes that s and l are that way around. I knocked on the door and said "uhh Chez-lee?" and she answered with "Yes that's correct. Finally someone says my name as Cheslea and not Chelsea." ****, what a shit name. Why would you do that to your child?
