I know, right. My youngest is named Rowan. I get it can be androgynous but Brett certainly isn't. We thought they said Britt but nope, they spelt it out.
I've taught kids whose parents have given them non-traditional spellings of common names. They are forever spelling their names to people who just assume the traditional spelling.
I actually did a lesson earlier this year where we read a book about names and a lot of the kids with more out there names said they were jealous of the kids named Alex and James.
Petrina is a name I've heard before, but not Patrina, could be linked to the 'e' name though. I also know a Katina, it's Greek. I'd put them in the category of quirky and maybe even not very nice, but not terrible.
I imagine that comes down to whether you prefer "Kat" or "Pat" for short given most people would refer to them that way. I do prefer Katrina but I've seen worse bastardisations that Patrina.
