give him a priority pick as compensation if he takes over.

eg. give him 4 picks instead of 3 and he misses the 4th round and joins the queue thereafter.

can we have our team line ups in posted in batting order (bearing in mind it will change slightly, especially come the end when we pick a 12th man)?

How strict is the 10 run difference between averages rule for all rounders?

I noticed one or two selected with less than 10 and I have a player in mind who I thought was just a bowler but then discovered that his bowling average is 9 runs more than his batting average. Not fussed either way, I'll go with a different player if needed

Alright, let's just pause first and draw the 'Masakadza line'. I'm going to say that we agree that Hamilton was too regular of a bowler to be considered purely a batsman, even in Tests? If so, Art will have to re-take that pick, otherwise we continue on.

Were there any others picked with a less than ten divide, who could be considered semi-regular bowlers?

Masakadza bowled 5 overs per test over 38 tests. Hardly a fluke bowler.

No other players picked have breached the rule so far.

There's a player and his name escapes me his batting was 9.87 better than his bowling and i bypssed him.

who ?

sikander raza breaks the rules as well, when looking at it 35/42.
while he is 35-/35+ it's not 10.

the speaker ?

Perhaps the 10 run average difference applies unless the player is a batsman with fewer than 10 wickets or is a bowler with a test century. Off the top of my head....

Alright, now that I've got my lower order batting really well sorted, I need an opener. What I want is someone who can take the shine off the ball. Don't worry about runs, just stay there at the crease for a long time. I also want someone who is a specialist in that position, and that people love anyway. With a strike rate only three runs higher than his average, I really can't go past another New Zealander for this spot - Trevor Franklin (ave. 23.00 across 37 innings).

1. TJ Franklin (New Zealand)
2.

8. AF Giles (England)
9. AE Dick (New Zealand)

does make it hard especially if people are allrounders

I'll go for my Zimbabwe player

i don't think Paul Strang can be taken?

I'll take Sean Williams to bat at 5

I'm praying this next English player doesn't get picked

Haha, Paul Strang was the guy i was looking at. I wouldn't have called him an allrounder from my memory of him but cricinfo refers to him as an allrounder and he did jag a test century

I just edited Williams out given he fails the same criteria Masakadza does. 19 wickets

I haven't checked yet, what are Williams averages? The criteria mattered with Masakadza because his bowling average is 30
I still think it was harsh. 16 over a decade plus career isn’t many.

39 @ 39 would make Border seem like an all-rounder. I wouldn’t even class either of the Waugh brothers as all rounders and they have iirc 160 ish wickets between them.

I think my point is perception should trump stats. Perception matters for wicketkeepers as we have to deem them to be ‘poor’ with the gloves.

that's where I'm getting lost with keepers

some say Healy was a poor keeper and some article's have boucher giving away byes for free

Rightio, I'll choose everyone's favourite Papua New Guinean/Welsh English wicketkeeper (and I use the term "wicketkeeper" in as loose a fashion as he kept wickets....) Come on down, Geraint Jones.

Next up *checks notes* is big_e
