I am assuming Mitch is number 6 by default, given conditions they might want Maxwell at 6 instead. SMarsh the genuine reserve bat.

Has had a great Shield season and is underrated.

If Cummins is fit he'll probably go ahead of him, or they might take Hastings instead, but there isn't that much else around.

He'll end up like Michael Hogan - very good Shield bowler but there would be serious problems for Australian cricket if he were in the test team.

Bit like back in 2004 when Bracken and Brad Williams both played tests.

Boland would be Victoria' 5th best bowler which is better than it sounds because Victoria have a class attack.

Yes he would, at the moment (and later in the year) with the injuries we have.

If Burns gets enough runs in this innings and has an average over 50 at the end of the innings has there ever been a top 5 to all average 50 or more?
(Not saying this is our best ever batting lineup by any measure)

Only since they played on highways every game.

Does bowl primarily at the WACA, which doesn't offer much. Still wouldn't be picking him. SMarsh pretty much sewing up the extra bat spot today.

Agar has stopped taking wickets... when he was selected he was taking them for fun.

Given the choice of an all rounder than can take wickets or score runs... I prefer the former.

It is why I like having Marsh in the side -has contributed to a number of wins.
