We are talking about the Shield cricketer of the year, so the other formats have nothing to do with it.He won around 6 games off his own bat this summer across all 3 formats as a 22 yo, captaining his state to their first shield final in 20 years. There's a ton to like about him, pretty good option to be taking on tours etc, will only help him improve.
Don't get too hung up on his average, that's not why CA rate him. Average reflects his inconsistencies not his great innings' he's played in his short career. He's a guy they want to help develop, he's not being picked because he is 36yo who dominates state cricket.
I'm not hung up over his career average.
But how can a guy average 36 for the season and win cricketer of the year?
