The English language is entirely malleable and is constantly evolving. If you choose to broaden the meaning of the word whore to include any sale of personal services then that is your prerogative. I do, however, disagree. I write computer programs for a living. Does this mean I am a prostitute? No, I would suggest that this makes me a Computer Programmer!

Nonetheless, the definition of the word still means prostitute, which still means providing sex for payment. Despite society’s newfound enlightenment and maturity with matters of sexuality, a prostitute is still a station in life that that is considered derogatory. This will continue to be true until society’s values shift to be more accommodating. I do not dispute that this could possibly happen. In feudal Japan, the prostitute was considered to be a higher class citizen than a merchant – an occupation that we would consider in these days to be honourable.

Ask yourself this question. What would you honestly prefer that your daughter grew up to be – a prostitute or a doctor? I know which one I prefer, and it is an answer that I feel rather than think.

Sure, everyone can be bought to a degree.

If I had a Don Bradman 1932 test cap, I'd sell it if the price was right but a material thing and my wife/girlfriend are completely different.

Firstly, It'd have to be her call but I would hate it.
Secondly, nobody could ever buy a relationship I have. I don't care if I was made emporer of earth it wouldn't matter because the monogamy of a relationship is important to me. It speaks of commitment to one another, something more priceless than any money.
