Classic Advertiser, the headline reads:

One-time Crows mascot Satine Cahill remembers when Taylor Walker helped comfort her before his captaincy debut in 2016

Even if you're not going to proof read the article, at least give the title a once over.

I case anyone doesn't have that year permanently seared into their brain for various reasons, it was 2015.

Todays "tiser should be renamed the TEX-itisers. 30 pages of tex congrats and stories. Our greatest captain.

I think the only one that can be argued to be ahead of Tex is Goody. It could be argued that Hart is close.

Tex has Mods, Jarman, Rehn, easily covered. They have been elevated due to the nostalgia of 97,98 IMO. Those 3 combined for 360 games for the Crows compared to the Texans 300.

Talk about missing the mark. You think Dawson is possibly on this list already (after 90 games and zero finals wins) yet its too recent to rank Tex accurately.

Dawson will have 3 B&F's and a runner up plus 2 AA's in his 4 seasons at the club soon. I think predicting him being on the list isn't that much of a stretch.

Somewhere in the 5-10 slots. Tex just doesn't had the decorated career that a Hart or Goodwin had.

Wherever you have Edwards, I'd have Tex one slot above.

Thinking about this more, it's probably a tad harsh to pair the two as Tex had three elite seasons. Equally Dawson really needs to be on this list. This has been an uber-impactful 4 year run and Adelaide lacks that long term star power that keeps a fellow like Daws out (noting Betts and Modra are also included). Numbers are sort in whatever order you feel like.

1-2: McLeod, Roo
3-5 Goodwin, Hart, D.Jarman.
6. Smart
7-10 Dawson, Betts, Modra, Tex
11. Dangerfield, Edwards.

I do think the only reason Danger is out of the top 10 is him leaving to Geelong likely cost us a premiership.

A performance like that doesn't get you closer to the top 10 Jordan Dawson.

Rehn was the dominant ruckman in 2 years. 1994 and 98. 95-96 injured. 97 finding his way back after two knee recons.

Rehn was the clearly the best ruck in the AFL in 94 and was only 22. If it weren't for those ACL's as he was hitting his peak we would be asking if Gawn and Cox were in the same class as Rehn.

Didnt realise he was only 20 in 1991. Did his knees at 24 and again at 25. So only 26 when we won our first flag. 27 in 98 when he was 4th in the brownlow. 28 when he did his third knee and was never the same.

Let’s hope that next season we don’t continue direct the ball to Tex like he’s still an unstoppable force. It’s great having him as a 3rd tall, but that’s an urban myth. He’s been our number 1 target all year and that only increased as we got closer to and in finals. He needs to learn to play in a system where he’s not the primary focus. But as Fog jokingly said earlier in the year, “Tex still reminds us that it’s his forward line”. And it’s pretty obvious there’s a lot of truth in that.

I have a feeling that he and Smith will retire

If he decides to go around again next year, would slimming him down add much mobility? I'm thinking probably not due to his age but given the position of a 3rd tall, I'm not sure his size really helps him in that role - especially with the defenders he gets which normally look to attack hard the other way.

The way he sunk to the ground at the end had me thinking he will retire

Who knows today may bring a different mood.

Have not seen him look so off as this game.
Just no energy.
I wonder if he had made his mind up or hadnt.

I guess if he had he would have gone harder - or he truly expected to win. Which is a good trait to have sometimes

In FOG's first 9 games he kicked 25 goals.

During this time Walker averaged 1.8 goals a game.

In FOG's next 15 games he kicked 16 goals.

During this time Walker averaged 1.6 goals a game.

FOG is a hot and cold player.

In 2022 - he was terrible at the start of the season - but finished really strong in the 2nd half.
In 2023 - He started out amazing and then dropped off.
In 2024 - He started out off, got hot for half a season and then dropped off at the end.
In 2025 - He started out off and then was pretty invisible for the 2nd half of the season.

It has nothing to do with Walker and everything to do with FOG. Also - how has FOG gone when Walker is out of the team (spoiler - it aint good).

You just hate older players.

Thanks for a great career, for the most part. It was great seeking Walker's resurgence in 2023 and it is unfortunate our coach was unable to take advantage of it.

We did go to him way too often last night, and I think it is time to move on.

They finally released a Taylor Walker 300 game coin.
