What a star you have been over the past 7 years you have been on the list, you have come on in leaps and bound more than we could have ever imagined, especially when you consider yuo and Matthew Lloyd were taken in the same year.

I'll never forget:

- The two decent matches you played against Port
- The goal you kicked in that final against Melbourne when the game was over
- Your 50th game when I sat there the entire game trying to work out how you got to it
- The goal you kicked against Hawthorn in that final
- Your hair
- The photos you must have of Denis Pagan and a goat in action

Thanks Stu for the memories, I'll always light a candle on October 28th, the day the man with the hair left

Good luck to Stuey, he worked away and tried to cement a career at North over the years, when lesser people would've whimpered back to Adelaide way sooner and whinged. Along the way he earnt a best clubman for his attitude and has shown he is a fantastic person at club functions. I hope he goes well at Port and realises the potential he has.

He actually played alright in that game against Hawthorn, the final im talking about hahaha i thought maybe finally we might have a reasonalbe player but it wasnt the case now we have the younger Stevens (michael) i could think of worse trades than this one eg: David Bourke, Olarenshaw, Calthorpe

Well, potentially the 8th year it was going to happen...!!!

He did OK, harshly judged by many...Most players do not become stars of their respective clubs, that is left to a minority...

I reckon Cochrane was judged pretty harshly....he may have been at the club for 7 years, but he did start here as a 16 year old. It's not a bad effort when 20 and 21 year olds like Headland, Grant, Anthony Rocca, White and so etc. start crying and looking for the first flight home.

He never did transfer his VFL form to AFL level, and who knows why? Confidence? Pagan's instructions? Maybe he just wasn't good enough. But as King Corey has posted, the kid did his best, never dropped his head or whinged, and was always popular within the club. It was never a case "I'm in this for myself" like some other players.

Personally, I hope Cochrane can have a good career with Port. But the joy at him being traded leaves something of a sour taste for me.

I liked Stuey as a player. He wasn't a star but he did have a go and you can't ask anymore than that.

i'm sad to see cochrane go. maybe he was never going to be a superstar but he definitely put in. good bloke to boot.
sadder about byron leaving but wish cochrane all the best when he isn't playing us.

Any chance one of you could give a precis on the sort of player Cochrane is? I know you reckon he's not up to much, but why?

Does he have a bad kick, lousy decision making, can't mark, loses concentration, can't tackle, just doesn't get the pill? And what strengths does he have? Anything would be handy, thanks.

A bloke who loved the club and put in his best and not one that deserves ridicule IMO.

Having had the absolute pleasure of speaking to Stuey a few times, who is an absolute class bloke, it was evident he was always very low on confidence and had been given VERY strict guidelines under which to play. Was never allowed to play the free running game he wanted and was very harshly marked by Pagan. As a result, he had crept well and truly into a playing shell.

All the best Stuey, a great bloke and genuine clubman.

Kicking - Shocking kick, not our worst this year but it cost us at times
Decision Making - Stuart dosen't know what that is yet
Can't Mark - Not a bad mark, never seen him take a pack mark, not terrible overhead though
Loses Concentration - Not really
Tackling - Only thing this blokes got going for him
Dosen't get the pull - More of a tagger

His strengths is his tagging ability and his tackling thats about it I'd say

BTW: Wasn't having a go at the bloke before (gee some people take things seriously around here). I have spoken to Stu before and think he is a great bloke, I just never rated him as a footballer

I thought the guy tried his best but on occasions wasn't given enough opportunity & I've always like the guy.
