Levon Helm, drummer with the influential band of the late 60s and early 70s, The Band, died yesterday (the big ''C'').
This clip is from their final concert, called the Last Waltz in 1976.
They were big and more important RESPECTED. The final concert was filmed by Martin Scorsese and guests included Dylan, Clapton, Van the Man, the Neils (Young and Diamond) and Muddy Waters.
They were Bob Dylan's nameless backing band - hence the name!
Their guitarist wrote this song. It has been covered by many, including Johnny Cash. You won't get a better performance of singing and playing by any drummer, anywhere. RIP Levon Helm.
