Serong clearly getting beaten tonight in the midfield and Switta just letting the ball walk out of our forward line

Coaching solution :
Put Jackson on ball and move Serong to the forward line .

He needs to to throw his weight around and make space for Serong and brayshaw. Also needs to move the ball on. Seems to take the mark, use up the time allotted then kick it long. Seemed he was doing that more last week.

People don't want to see it, including the coaches. This midfield gets wiped regularly. Not having Young and Fyfe or similar to protect the other two means it fails badly quite regularly. Especially against the bigger midfields who don't allow any time and space. For some teams only one of Brayshaw or Serong should be in the center clearances at any one time.
Even against Adelaide we lost the center clearances iirc and they are not that big.

If Erasmus and Brodie aren't the answer (how would we know) then we need to go recruiting.

No I look at it as you blindly blaming "midfield coaches" and "players" and consistently, with premeditation and sustained patterns excusing completely and absolutely JLo from even the barest slightest acountability for the team midfield performance - yet at the same time as soon as we have one good midfield quarter you say JLo is the greatest midfield coach ever, no mention of any missing midfield coaches or poor midfield player performances.

I really don't understand why you are so determined to back JLo to the asbsolute hilt, even to the point of blaming suposed missing midfield coaches (who aren't actually missing at all - JLo picked them, and the stoppage coaches, and raves about how great they all are) and also targeting the players. The same players who JLo has personally driven to be stop, don't run, wait, kick long, keep slow, kick long game style.

Agree. It sort of covers the cracks when they rock up the next week and they have a good game and 'clicks'. But there are too many games where they are decisively beaten...three this year, to know it's not an anomaly..

need someone who can shovel it out at all cost and get it going out way..but isn't a def liability..not too much too ask is it lol

This is the sought of the “thinking outside the square” move that I like and that JL couldn’t fathom…

I would go this move to cover for Young. Bring in Oscar as second ruck or even Voss.

About to go back and read the thread but I need to vent first. That was pathetic. Absolutely f**king pathetic.

Like I'd go as far as saying that was so pathetic it was practically a player statement that they want a new coach. Everyone knew the narrative about JLo going into this game, including the players, and to dish up that sort pathetic performance is as close to a concerted player effort to get a coach sacked as I've even seen.

Young came out last week and said we want to be winning 70-60. The whole club is completely cooked by the messaging from JLo. Surely no player wants to be playing this way, it can’t be fun.
