Hey all, i am just wondering what everyone thinks that so called 'X' factor is? Is it speed off the mark? Great skill? A combination of many things? Or even just a trait that the player is better at doing than anyone else. I was just wondering what everyone thinks it is! Would appreciate any responses.

A player that takes risks , is fast and is very skillfull*. Also someone that
can kick freakish goals and/or a player with many variations to his game.

The player that is crucial to the team structure and is the 'all important' factor in determining the game. Without that 'X factor' the result will usually go the other way.
Example Fevola is our x factor.

dont think so. neither really have massive impacts on games, i would go fev, judd or stevo!:thumbsu:

You can't say Stevo has a 'X' factor about him, he's just not as exciting to watch than Walker...When Tex came back for his first game this season, it actually thrilled me to see what he was going to do. He has alot of WOW factor, especially when he is going to take that screamer, or when he gets the ball and goes for a squirt. Stevo just doesn't do that for me anymore...I just expect him to play a good game.

Judd is a definate X factor player, because he is too exciting to watch, but it's stating too much of the obvious.

Fev is a great FF, but he is a notch under Walker for mine when it comes to X factorism.

Just my opinion only, as I expect everyone to have their own.

The X Factor in 2009 is:
  1. Can Sentana go to the next step and be the 200cm monster we want in the back half.
  2. Can Hartlett finally make CHF his own.
If these two players can be relied upon to be consistant in their respective positions we will definately be a side which will worry all teams (including the Cats):thumbsu::D

For coach Brett Ratten, Walker is an important piece in the Blues jigsaw.

"He provides energy to our team and is a real X-factor. We saw that at times last year, but he got injured and then had to play catch-up," Ratten said.

I told ya he was our X-Factor (along with many other players, we're so chock full of 'em).

It's a buzz word that people who don't understand something properly, or how someone does something good/amazing to describe it. If someone recognises something amazing but can't understand how they did it or can't describe what they saw they simply describe it as the X-Factor.
