Listening to 3aw tonight, they had "Shifter" Sheehan about the 2004 drafts talent. After saying that it was very early etc and they will know a lot more when the State Carnival happens, he mentioned a couple of players that appear to have "stand out" potential even at this early stage. (Please forgive if spelling is wrong)

Joel Selwood (brother of other Selwoods)
Cam Wood Adelaide
Fabian Deluka
Mark Lynch
Lance Buddy Fraklin , WA
Brent Delula
Mitch Mortma

Apparently a few of these kids have played against the Irish in the junior International

also he mentioned that the age change( 2 months) to draft will not have a huge impact on the quality of the picks available

GOALden Hawk has talked up Fabian DeLuca, brother of Adrian at Carlton, quite a fair bit. Apparently would need some time till he's ready. I think you meant Brett Deledio not Brent Delula?

Joel Selwood is rated as the best U-16 player as of now. And considering the U-16's is a very highly rated bunch, Selwood must be damn good.

John Meesen ,17,200cm from Modewarre

Geez, Mees has grown a bit.

Was only about 195-196cm last year.

I saw him play twice, impressed me as much as Mark Blake did. They made a good combo.

Brett Deledio is almost certain to be #1 draft pick, he hails from Kyabram, 187cms, kicks both sides, good utility.

Not what we need though. However, Lance Franklin, plays for Perth, 194cm, 84kg, and will only get bigger and stronger, KPP, with great all round skills and very good atheltic ability, will go first round IMO, and if we get the chance we should go for him.

Deledio is looming as the #1 pick as of now, there is no certainties, expecially at this time of the year.

Matt Little from Calder.Seems to be kicking a few , anybody know hes story?

From GH:

Matt Little – 3 Jan 86, 183cm, 79kg. Strange choice at FF, but doing very well, kicking another 6 to add to his 8 from last week. Bit like Herrington, has sticky hands and is very quick on a lead. Nothing outstanding about him, just runs to the right spots.

Too small to be the key forward we need. Looks like another Luke Herrington.
