well yes whether it be rookie or national draft i don't know that part of the equation, but from what I've heard it's a given that he will be at Fremantle next year.

Apparently it is gone now which to me says a huge blunder by someone.

Clearly we are taking Conca at 6 and club already had a pre planned speel about him, then have realised the error of their ways and taken it down.

Kind of ruins the suspense for me...

The AFL are the ones that run the site, not the club. They leaked the winner of our B&F as well. This is meant to be a professional league

The club probably has press releases written up for other picks as well, with them ready to go depending on who they get, e.g. if they get Polec or Gaff. It's similar to speechwriters for politicians working on both acceptance and concession speeches.

It is believed that
4: Gaff
5: Polec
6: Conca

Will happen. Heppell is quality, but with those picks thought to be decided it is likely Heppell lands somewhere in the 7-13 range. Will prove to be a quality AFL player, that I have no doubt and at that stage I think will prove to be a very, very good pick.

I think people would be surprised how much of the draft is already figured out. TV ratings/publicity are why they don't announce a lot of what is going on now.

There is a certain amount of good will that happens and I wouldn't be surprised if by now the top 15-20 are set in stone. It's funny how even one of the managers was pretty sure that Billie Smedts is going to Geelong at 15 and there is also rumours floating around that Brodie Smith is going to Adelaide at 14. They may just be rumours but I think there is a certain amount of good will that happens in the last week and it benefits all clubs.

For the later selections, yes, they will decide on the day but the first round is often done before the draft.

Have heard for some time that Port Adelaide are pretty happy with their ruck division and suspected for some time Lycett won't be the selection.

Where he slides to is anyones guess. Fremantle at 20, St Kilda at 24, Brisbane or West Coast after that might all take a look.

That's because 30 minutes (?) prior to the draft starting they all gather in a secret room and do the first-round. This is so they can do the stupid reserve order crap for the TV to "build suspense".

Hawthorn did not have a first round pick last year so they would have been absolute lightning!!! Unlike your memory.
