Would take Gaff over Parker myself. He's the best player in his position in the league.

Fair enough,your opinion. I would still take gaff first but with darling stagnating a bit and McGovern's massive improvement I personally would take McGovern.

AT the end of 2014 he seemed to be furious with his season and was looking to have a massive preseason. AT this moment i have him as our biggest improver for next season. If Darling reaches his full potential, he will be a scary prospect for opposition.

I would say darlings best season was pretty damn good when he was the focal point up forward.I think he lacks a bit of versatility tho but I suspect we may see him up the ground a bit more as McGovern is a better marking option if used forward
I reckon McGovern's last season shows that he could be anything if he stays healthy
Both are important players but again with the benefit of hindsight and knowing now that we have lamb and waterman coming in who are both 3rd tall forward types no doubt I would take mcgovern

Omeara is a good player if he gets his body right but will want too much coin.
Jack Martin would suit us better. Give him the wing opposite Gaff.

yes I think so, either Swallow or Bennell would have been drafted by WCE I suspect. Gaff ,Polec and Heppell were around the mark and a tick for the recruiters here identifying Gaff as a future AA .

Yeah i was quite upset that neither bennell or swallow didnt slip but also i want overly happy with the gaff selection. However, After midway 2011 i was convinced it was a good selection and by the end of 2012 i knew we got a very good player. From that draft Parker is probably the only player better than Gaff ( maybe heppell but i would still have gaff over heppell).

I think at the time I had Polec and Heppell ahead of Gaff at pick 4 .The recruiters showed nerves of steel to leave Darling on the table wth their 1st pick and probably threw the Vics off picking him up .

Thank god we got Gaff instead of polec. Polec legit sucked at brissy and had a good year in 2014 but playing in a very good side. in 2010 i wasnt as big of a fan as i am now but i remember darling getting talked up and even i was surprised he fell that late. Gaff, darling Lycett, gov and crippa all look like they will be 150+ games for us and hopefully will lead us into success.

Even Port fans would acknowledge Polec is not on the same level as Gaff. Not yet, anyway.

If Lycett breaks out this year the 2010 draft will be remembered fondly in years to come. We cleaned up big time.

I got laughed out of the building when i suggested parker for pick 6 (what we looked like having at the time). However i then also suggested gorringe and thus should have been laughed out of the building.

West coast would have taken swallow. Was a very, very clear number 1 pick.

Polec will turn into a good player but isnt the league of gaff. Gaffs on the boderline of being elite and if churns out another 2015 type performance next season, you might as well call him elite. Ever since certain fans wanted him gone when he was playing bad in 2013/14, i have paid more attention to gaff and even when he was out of touch, he wasnt even that bad. I was lucky to witness the game i believe was the turning point in Gaffs career. It was v Adelaide in 2014 and Gaff was everywhere and basically unstoppable and snaderson sent few guys to stop him but no one could stop him. I cant remember all his stats but it i think he snagged 3 goals, had 35 touches, 6 inside 50's and would have had more than 600 meters gained.

gaffy looks to have added more muscle to his frame this season and could be more influential on the inside than ever.

Gaff is just so consistent and durable. Pretty sure he hasn't missed a game since making his way back into the team in his debut season.

Get the feeling Gaffy is ultra professional, I seem to remember him saying he'd often go into the club on his day off for a massage and do a few things. Even at a young age he's been focussed on getting the best out of himself, I think the recruiters get a bit tick for that one.

It would be interesting to see which team has got the most games out of players taken in the rookie draft. Coxy would already have us up there and I dare say Gov should play a few games between now & his retirement.

I hope the Blokes that peaked in 2015 continue to stay at that level ( at least or improve again ) whilst Darling redden jetta duggan lamb emac and brown all add .
