No way will the Spurs sell Modric for £25m. He signed a 6-year contract in 2010, so Tottenham hold all the cards. If he was out-of-contract and demanded a move, then he would go for £25m.

Levy won't accept anything less then £40m, Spurs are bastards when it comes to signing one of their players.

Modric and Kagawa would certainly bring a more creative, attacking dimension to Utd's midfield that has been sorely lacking for the last few years and remove an over-reliance on working the ball wide to get results. Overall it would provide the team with an ability to play the ball through the middle which is a major failing of the current squad, especially in Europe and against the top few in the EPL.

Only question for me is who makes way?

Modric or Kagawa and one other in the centre of midfield is weak. So do you play three in the centre of midfield and sacrifice a forward, or do you play either on the wing (not much of an upgrade).

Or just go with the two in the centre of midfield and look to just outscore the opposition.

Dortmund's Polish striker Lewandowski to transfer to Man Utd according to the Poland national team manager. Shame to see that Dortmund side broken up to be honest, if they had all stuck together under Klopp they could've been very successful both in Germany & Europe over the next few years.

They're kinda half sticking together. I just read the article as well and if it's true, then that's 2 Dortmund players making their way to Old Trafford. If we can get a few more of their stars then :thumbsu:

Didn't he just say that Man U would be a good team for him to go to. Also dortmund replaced kawaga with rues who's just as good, hardly breaking up.

I dont know, just two fairly awesome players that we didnt expect to sign. That would be sweet. Unfortunately I think Sigurdsson is going to be our most expensive and high quality signing at 7 million.

There's money to spend I wouldn't worry about that, Gaston Ramirez's agent confirmed we'd made a £16m bid for him before Dalglish left but since the manager switch everything's "gone on hold" according to him. It's probably gone quiet now while Rodgers assesses the squad & decides for himself which areas need strengthening & decides on his own targets. Be patient.

highly doubt nasri is going to leave.

in other news, as a united supporter if kagawa is the only player we end up buying we can consider the Champions League as good as gone and possibly a top 4 finish in danger simply because scholes and co arent going to be able to carry the squad.

Tottenham have wanted remy for some time. Also i would prefer bendtner to go to dortmund then to liverpool. It would help set up a good relationship between the two clubs which might help when some of their players decide to leave. Gotze in particular(though it would turn into a hazard type scenario where we would get priced out. Btw bendtner was linked to dortmund a couple of weeks ago.

mmm...Liverpool supporters were thinking the Cole loan to lille a year back was going to land us Hazard. The player always picks there club, and Im sure the generosity of interested clubs towards their current club doesnt influence their decision

Im clinging to the hope that LFC are being real quiet cos they are lining up a couple of surprising amazing deals :D

Probs not though...

need a quality mid...Johnson would be a nice signing and perhaps possible as liverpool can offer him max games and he can come help and be partly credited in pushing us back up the table and earn his international spot back...just like downing last last...oh wait :D

na seriously Johnson would be about as big as I expect our spending to get...and rest will be free agents and players 10 million or less

And I would love it. Absolutely terrific player who doesnt get enough games at City simply because they have all the best players in the world playing for them. He would shine for us out wide, twice the player Downing is.
