Isnt that practically what Man city did? Turned over a squad in about 18 months? Im sure we can make top 4.It's going to be hard for half a team of new players to gell, Chelsea will be doing well if they get back into the top 4 next season.

4 years, we went from 9th to 10th to 5th to 3rd to 1st.
It didn't happen overnight.

True, but Chelsea aren't starting from nearly as far back as Man City did. Top 4 should be more than achievable.
City down in 10th, those were the days!
Unlike Mancini, Di Matteo for me still hasn't proven he can manage a squad that size with that many egos over the length of a full season, buying superstar players is really only half the battle. There's still no guarantees his 'sit back and hit them on the counter' playing style will be successful outside a cup competition and Chelsea actually lost ground in the chase for 4th under Di Matteo. I can still see Chelsea making the top 4, but City and United will fight it out at the top again in 2012/13. 2 squads with players that know eachother and their playing style inside out, and requiring only minor personnel changes.
why? City bought a bunch of players and told them to play together, and im talking the likes of Ballotelli, dzeko, agureo, Nasri, silva, etc, only recently bought players, and look what happened.I think top 4 is certainly achievable for them. But I can't see them being in a title race just yet.
Lol at the guy saying City didn't change overnight, you bought the league. Enough said.

These guys wernt in your side when you were tenth, they came in on the brink of something special.
Still think saying that it will be hard for our players to gell together and "do well to finish top 4" is a bit ironic from a Man city fan. Anything is possible. I still believe we can win the league.Hart, Zabaleta, Richards, Lescott, Kompany, Kolo Toure, De Jong, Barry, Tevez were signed by Hughes or earlier.
Johnson, Kolarov, Silva, Yaya Toure, Milner, Balotelli have been at the club two years or more.
Aguero, Nasri and Clichy are the only new players.
Over half of our best XI were already at the club, or joined after our 10th place finish.

Chelsea have more of a squad than City did originally though. Chelsea won the league 2 years ago, and the champions league last year. It'll take much, much less to get them to a title winning team then it did City. Next season isn't without possibility.
Chelsea will be challenging for the title next year.
I actually fear United could take a dip.
