Was very interesting listening to Walsh's press conference. He mentioned Osborn and how impressed he was. No doubt in my mind it was more about suggesting to JJ and Lowden that there are other options and pressure is mounting.

i was also really interested to watch Walsh when asked about Riley Knight's performance. There looked to be a little smirk in his face when he discussed Knight and how he had caught his eye.

It might just be his normal smirk, but I got the impression he was pretty happy with Knight and will be watching closely.

Isn't it great that the coach would actually go to Balaklava to watch the SANFL....

I'm surprised anyone hated West Torrens.

I'm not, they were the Saint Kilda of the SANFL. Thebarton oval was awful to walk into it was like a time warp, the ground was always a bog and the food cold and beer room temperature and the supporters were all bad willed and no teethed. Now, compare that to Woodville oval and it was like opposite ends of the spectrum, the supporters were just happy to have you in the ground, everything was fun and the food hot and beers cold. It was like the Bay of the Western suburbs where Thebarton oval and its inhabitants made Alberton look positively upmarket.

Knight was earmarked to play in the preseason was very disappointing he got injured. Exciting prospect I expect we will see him later this year in the AFL.

He looks like the perfect player to put heat on matty wright ...a forward line of Betts , Cameron and Knight would definitely help our game plan in locking the ball in our forward line ...2017 looks exciting , how many years can betts keep up this form? ....will be the last year of his contract ... Ha - give him another 4 but pay him more !

Noticed Beech played in that, how has he been going this SANFL season? Seemed like we were quite keen on him in the end but just didn't have the space to fit him in.

That would suck having your team merge with a foe! - I never would've thought West Torrens would have been hated, but that's because I was too young to actually remember them as seperate entities...

Infact, I remember my Mum managing to track down a copy of the 1st Crows' Year Book (complete with Scott Hodges on the front cover) but in 1993 or 1994 - I had collected all of them until then but hadn't got the first. I was going through it and it had all the player bios and I couldn't rack my head around why some players had 'Woodville' as their SANFL team and others had 'West Torrens' - I had a bit of a rage and pointed it out to Mum and said this book is broken and wrong, they're not even calling the Eagles 'Woodville-West Torrens'...

That's when Mum told me about the merge that I had no idea had existed... I guess I was only 8 or 9 and the merge had happened when I was 6 when I wasn't quite aware of it all yet....

You'd think the hypen may have given me a clue....
Michael Long played for West Torrens before going to Essendon.
