lulz, was waiting for someone to play the Bucks is playing the side with a view to the future excuse card, guess that's why Blair has been a mainstay of the side, Caff was given a promotion on the back of **** all, Phillips has hardly had a look in and Rupe took an eternity to get a game :D:thumbsu:
And you don't disappoint either with your typical reaction :) At the other side of the spectrum is saying that Bucks has been only playing seniors and denied youth and/ rookies a chance to play . That is not the case as far as I am aware.
For his age profile, Blair does fit the bill for a few more years in the team and given the inexperienced fwd line, a defendable choice at the time.
Caff ditto; at some stage deserved selection too. Didn't work out that way.
And we played some that shouldn't have. Like it or not with the power of hindsights the 2 ruckmen and other experiments has costs us at least 1 game if not more. But all that is hypothetical, like all other scenarios about couldhavebeens.

The only bill Blair fits is the one where you're prepared to gift the games to a small forward who averages just over half goal a game, doesn't stick his much vaunted tackles yet looks very enthusiastic doing all that.
But I'm actually surprised Bucks was "so quick" to shit can the 2 genuine rucks experiment, given that he usually takes much longer to acknowledge what most people see.

Sure, we've had injuries, but that doesn't make us kick straight to the opposition like we do so often. It doesn't stop individual players developing & improving. We've heard all the excuses, what we haven't heard, is what's being done to change things. The players are always coping the blame, not the coach, and not the game plan.
...
That may be so on this forum but its not the message I have heard from Bucks. Take the latest 360 show, he acknowledged the coaching group were a part of the issue and certainly didn't attempt to apportion the blame in any way. We can speculate what is being done to change things but I suspect pretty much all of that is occurring behind closed doors. We may at least be able to see some of the things that are being done to change things through staff changes at the end of this season.

Blair usually clings on for dear life to the opposition players :)
Given the angst about Witts, I guess he had to be played at some stage. 2 ruckmen was a bad "Why not both" compromise between promoting Witts/ dropping Grundy or just playing Grundy. Been a while since we had it and both had progressed. Or so we thought :)
Overall I have found Bucks to be quicker to drop players this season. Could be just me though.

I can understand the angst towards Buckley since taking the reigns however it just dawned on me; since 2012 we have had a list overhaul to identify long term players moving forward so this is my question. Would you all have preferred to keep finishing in the top 8 only to be beaten by Hawthorn who have played in 4 Grand Finals since and be in a Kangaroos scenario? Or would you rather be where we are now moving forward with Treloar, Aish, De Goey, Moore, Adams, Elliot, Grundy, Fasolo, Crisp, Shaz, Ramsay etc who have shown that we are not far off it (GWS, Geelong, West Coast wins) and that we really just need to get a settled teamsheet and one of two more guys to take the next step.

We should have beaten Hawthorn last year.
Unless we dramatically improve our disposal, we are going nowhere fast. I'm just amazed how poor it is. Priority should be to work on it and only recruit those that can kick and handball.

Sad to see how far people will go in their hatred.
Despite the fact I have said numerous times in this thread that I don't hate Buckley at all but it just hasn't worked. But go ahead and make your own assumptions without checking your facts.

Umm no. The worst thing about Pendles being injured is that our captain and best player is stuck on the side line, desperate to respresent our club despite the season being over.

The second worst thing is that people like you see a champion being hurt as a coaching political tool.
Despite the fact its such a serious injury that he might play on Friday, no, I don't like seeing our captain hurt at all. I think its sad that Buckley isn't a good enough coach to say to Pendles 'champ, you're too important to us to let you risk playing any further, sit the last couple out and get right for next year hey'. Instead he knows he needs him so much he lets him try and play. I would have thought that's the saddest part, but I guess if you're a blind Buckley supporter it isn't.

Tim Watson's relevance to anything coaching related? o_O

Coaching career
Watson was the coach of the St Kilda Football Club in 1999 and 2000, his success was limited, with the side winning only 12 of the 44 matches they played while he was in charge. In the 2000 season St Kilda won just two games for the entire season and Watson resigned during the year, forgoing the final year of his three-year contract.

Tim is confident the Pies can turn it around and challenge for finals next year. He thinks the Pies will make a call on Travis Cloke.
I don't buy the injury excuse anymore.
Other teams have coped, (Hawks (always do) and Bulldogs as an example.)
The Cloke call has been made long ago, hence his apparent indifference most of the time.

Meh. If Bucks gets next year with a clear injury run, we'll know better. If we get the same injury run he'll be gone.

.
Oh fact checking is something you should do too. Is it a fact that losses next week(s) with Pendles in the team is the end of Bucks as a coach. News to me. Would be big headlines if that is the case. Or is that your assumption /wishful thinking?
Fact is that the salt level of your comment on Pendles injury is above the healthy limits . And even now you go on about it. Hatred of Bucks as coach doesn't necessarily apply to the person or the player. Although there are some who do that too.
I don't think Bucks gives a toss whether Pendles plays and neither do I. It is how the usual suspects perform. Pendles is the least of our worries.

But he doesn't effect the player from disposing of the pill often enough or create turnovers or stoppages from the tackles near enough.

Preh-sha.
