Only question I have is if ANB got 40 touches and wasn't BOG for Casey what did he do with them? Other thing I notice is Roos' son got as much as JKH.

He was very in and under - Coll put a heap of pressure on , he got tackled but managed to get the ball forward numerous times, was hard at it.

40 disposals and just 1 inside 50. I only saw the first half but that just has stats padding written all over it. Hunt barely touched it while I was there, but I see he got 2 second half goals He might be worth a look as a forward goal sneak. JKH was underwhelming I the half I saw.

Further to this Jordie Mckenzie was easily casey's best player while I was there. I know it will surprise some, heck it surprised me to be honest, but he used the ball really well. Jamar was excellent, but I don't know I think we're better sticking with gawny.

Every time I've watched Casey this year, Jordie has been in the top 2 or 3 players. He is one of the raft of players we have had over the years that look too good for VFL but not good enough for AFL. Jamar is completely dominant at that level, because he is an AFL-quality player.

As far as the rest of them went on Saturday, I thought no one really stood out. I didn't realise old mate had 40 touches until the stats came out but you didnt really notice them. I knew he got a fair few possies but they weren't damaging. Not his fault though, after the first qtr Casey were outplayed for long stretches and under immense pressure.

Salem came on and made an absolute shocking turnover with his first touch (pretty sure it was him) but after that looked pretty good I thought.

Fitz was our best though IMO. Mark after mark and really composed. I left just after 3qtr time when it was pretty much sleeting sideways.

I'm still happy to see him get any touches at all, we've had too many guys like Jones, Bail, Toumpas etc who only get 10-15 useless touches playing through the midfield.

Its a shame he's another 'inside' accumulator though.

We do need guys who can run the ball and 'gain metres'.

We've set the list up really well for that stoppage/lock down type of game, but if Roos and Goodwin are serious about us wanting to play more attacking footy - then we'll need some more 'outside' players like Jones, Bail, Toumpas - we just need them to be better players than that.

Toumpas is the one I'm most worried about watching Casey. The other fringers we have do stand out at that level but Toumpas really doesn't IMO. He just seems pretty well suited to it. No AFL grade weapons at his disposal (excuse the puns) at the moment.

I don't really agree with that - his run, carry and disposal all stand out at VFL.

Hi all

Casey Radio is broadcasting today's game between the Scorpions and the Werribee Tigers at Casey Fields from midday. A significant game in the context of the season with the sides currently 7th and 8th and separated only by percentage.

As per, we'll be speaking with both coaches (usually at 12.15 and 12.30).

If you're interested in asking any questions or sledging any Melbourne-listed players send us a tweet at 977Footy. We'll endeavor to put everything to air (within reason).

97.7FM, CaseyRadio.com.au or via the TuneIn radio app for iPhone/Android.

EDIT: got carried away due to irregular starting time last week. We go to air at 1pm; coaches at 1.15 and 1.30.

Cheers

Rude way for the boys to lose this week. Looked like a 5-6 goal breeze down one end, looked to have the better of the match until the 3rd where Werribee plowed on an easy 5-6 goals with the wind. Naturally the rain set in when we had the scoring end in the 4th and they ran away with it.

Toumpas is ****ing 21 years old. Was nearly BoG for us against the Saints in June and played damn well in our win v the Bulldogs too. Not exactly time to start worrying about bringing in outside players to replace him.

Casey are melbourne through and through. Dominate possetion, dominated the hitouts, lose the inside fifty count?

There nickgrant69 Newton got 21 disposals to go with his two goals.

I knew this had to be about Newton haha
I havent seen the games so he could be playing awesome but getting over 20 touches cant hurt

The boy does know how to put them between the sticks

As in he needs another run in the 1sts or put a line through him?
Let's not put a line through JKH yet. He's in his second year and has earned the chance to prove himself over the next 2 years at least.
