While the numbers by Trenners are very impressive i still think he needs a lot more games under his belt before we consider him for selection at AFL level.

About the time Queens Birthday roll's around would mean a nice amount of VFL games under his belt and would be a fitting comeback game i reckon.

30 touches 10 tackles 2 goals - wow.
Could we see Trenners in the AFL this week?
Trac was quieter too...wouldn't mind him coming in at all.

I think they'll give him another couple of games to be honest. 2 years out of footy, no need to pull the trigger after one, very very good game. Let him put together a strong body of work and bring him in when he's frothing at the mouth ... Much like CP5 is.

Speaking of, good to see that despite getting less of it and not hitting the scoreboard, he was still our 3rd best

He's been playing very well for more than just this game just gone, it's not a one off game for Trengove.

Yup, he's really pushing.

I think perhaps leave him for 2 more weeks. Etihad is just asking to hurt someone badly again, then the trip to the Gold Coast. May 15th against the Dogs at the 'G.

ANB hasnt been out for over 2 years and has been just as good but cant get a crack atm either.

In years gone by i have no doubt Trengove would be up for selection this week, fortunately for us now, we have the luxury of getting his fitness and game touch right up to standard before throwing him back into the fire.

Patience my pretty's, he will play AFL again at some point, no need for us to go all 2013 Melbourne and needlessly throw him into the fire so soon.

I hope Trengove's return is against the Bulldogs in Round 8. The roar when he runs off the bench will be spine tingling. There's a fair chance he'll be brought back earlier than that though.

Apart from Joel Smith and maybe Max King, I reckon every fit player on the list could play in the AFL this season if they were required. We're running pretty deep.

Yeah that wasn't what I was getting at, I mean to say that we no longer have to rush a bloke into the side after one good VFL game, ANB and Petracca being examples of this.

THIS. I will be steaming if he doesn't come back at the G, but also happy he has made it back to AFL. I wouldn't be surprised if he has to wait until the Lions game in round 9 though.

Trac and Trengove have moments when they fade out of games mainly due to lack of game conditioning
Totally agree, which is why I think the both of them still require a few games in the 2s. Trengove more so. Also, the senior side is winning, so I reckon they'd really need to have had 3 or 4 ripping games in a row. Roos has said as much in the press, when talking about Trac. He said that they are happy with his general level of fitness, but now need the formline to stack up. He has a couple of 'ticks' in that column so far, so they are just looking at whether it is good enough to knock someone out of a winning side.

I agree with you. Although i think right now, Trac could play Brayshaw's role up forward as he's not that fit either and Trac is really banging the door down

I didn't see Trac's game against Willy, but I saw it against the Pies and while i was impressed with how ferocious he was, he really didn't start dominating until the Pies had given up. Then it became sorta beating up on a crap side (like Frankston the week before). I know he was named in the 'bests' but I don't really trust those a whole lot. His numbers were serviceable, without being jaw dropping (like Trengove's). Unsure if he was 'really banging the door down' based on those numbers, but yes, it would appear he could probably play Brayshaw's role given Gus does appear to be somewhat hampered.

I can't really figure out whether Brayshaw is injured or just being played out of position. I mean, why play him if he is injured and we have fit players for Casey that are going ok? Seems to me that he's just not really a forward. Still doing an ok job though, it must be said. I think a goal a game, with an assist or two is probably par for that role..

Seems like they want to get game time into him, as he had no preseason games. But it looks like theres no wanting to play him at Casey and would rather play him back into form at AFL level. I sort of feel that is the right move and he'll improve and get back to where he was and needs to be, but another side of me feels that Roos won't put up with it much longer unless he starts to turn it around. I agree again in thinking that he's going 'ok'
