I watched the first half of the Willy game on the MFC website last night. Notes:

Trengove was very clean and skilful, looks very fit and reads the play very well. He looks a class above VFL. There is a big jump in pace up to AFL footy, but I went to bed with increased confidence that he can make a successful AFL return. (I was a bit sceptical beforehand.)

Petracca was not all that impressive. (He was better in the first quarter against Collingwood.) His decision making was ordinary and he struggled to get involved at stoppages. He also needs to improve his transition running. He reminded me a lot of Colin Sylvia as a midfielder to be honest. In the AFL, I expect him to play as a small key position forward for the first half of his career (at least).

Michie played a good serviceable game and was clean with ball in hand.

Newton was also very clean and classy.

Grimes and Terlich played like Grimes and Terlich.

Garland made a few mistakes and is clearly under instruction to take the game on more often. He looks athletically well above VFL level. I still think he can get back to being a good AFL player if he can get his touch back.

Both Weideman and Hulett look at least 12 months away from senior footy.

Max King moves well and is skilled, but is still far too weak to play in the ruck.

Stretch played mostly on the ball and was a little disappointing. He found the ball, but wasn’t as clean as he usually is. I actually think he is better suited to AFL than VFL, where the game can be a bit scrappy.

FUBAR.

Oliver named. Spencil in the ruck. No Dawes.

15/22 possible named. Travelling emergency should get a run too since it's on Sunday.

We have 38/45 possible fit right now playing at Casey...the others:

Vandenberg & his ankle
Dawes still on the comeback trail
Joel Smith has done a groin
Matt Jones not named?
JKH Hamstring
Mitch King ACL
Melksham banned..

So only Matt Jones and Stretch NFI

No Weideman or am I blind (entirely possible)

Keep an eye out on Briggs
speedy midfiedler/forward
been killing it at the development level and playing 23rd man is perfect for him since he's young
Will def break the lines if given space

Might be in the devo league :thumbsu:
Not sure he needs to go to the devo league. He is currently 2nd on the VFL goal kicking tally.

Maybe just a week off? Managing his loads?
Would be my guess. He's being talked up as "improving every week" but his frame is still pretty coat hanger and he came to us in the draft underdeveloped from injury. Hope so. I like him and I'm not even sure why. Maybe because I saw him in training then in the intraclub thingy - I think if he is managed well he could be decent one day.

Also would piss off the pies, and Eddie in particular.

If I read something like that about me it'd probably be the best motivation possible to continue to do SFA and be a star player.

But then again my mum says shit like that about me all the time and I'm still a drop kick in all areas of life.
But you're working the Cnr of Marylebone & Baker :D

Weird. I used to study there - Marylebone Road - and lived in Bayswater for a couple of years. Love that city. I save up just to go to London and see it again - and every time it is pissingly cold and I get rained on. But I don't care. I love that city

It is the greatest. I adore London.

He's the closest thing to a good looker in last year's top 10, along with Jacob Hopper.
