Why would you trade ANB? He has shown great development, at the moment is just on the fringe of our best 22. One more good preseason and another year of developing I can see him in our best 22 like stretch has done this year.

If you traded ANB you'd barely get what we used to draft him (pick in the 40s) and then risk drafting a dud who you'd have to develop for 2 more years.

I wasn't suggesting we should trade him just what I think will happen at the end of the year
I wouldn't be surprised if the SA clubs come knocking

Terlich has kicked 4 :drunk:

FT Stats
Goals - Terlich 4, Scott, Hulett 2, Grimes, Michie, Newton, T. Smith

FT Stats
Disposals - Kennedy 34, Michie 33, Grimes 31, Trengove 28, Oliver 28, Bugg 27, Garland 25, Newton 25, Scott 24.

Food for thought.

Kennedy always responds well to being dropped, which I like.
They said earlier in the week that they're managing him now, he's never played this much at senior level in a season.

19 handballs and 7 kicks for Oliver. They'll be working on his outside game to get some better balance.

I can see Hulett getting a taste of senior footy before the end of the year, but Weideman might be 12 months away still.

Definitely seems to have tired as the season has gone on hasn't he, which isn't great when he's played VFL.

Fortunately, I don't think he's needed jut yet, I'm backing Hulett in to come in and play a forward role late this year and into next year

Wouldn't worry about Weid at all, he is still a baby.

Plus essentially it is like drafting/debuting our No. 1 draft pick of this years(2016) draft not playing him in the seniors until next year. We already have done that this years with Oliver.

Yeah not worried in the slightest ... more so than the usual first year player tiring out later in the season, he also missed most of the year before, so is starting from miles back.

More than happy with his start to the season where he was kicking plenty of goals, and look forward to him getting a good preseason or two into him before he's going to be needed.

2013 - Viney and Toump
2014 - Tyson and Salem
2015 - Brayshaw and Hogan
2016 - Oliver and Petracca
2017 - Smoke the Weid

I was having this conversation with a mate the other day actually.

When you look at this years crop of top draftees, I think our decision to trade away this years first rounder looks quite an astute call. Last years draft was over flowing with Key Pos Players, where as this year, at this stage, the best key forward hasn't shown much more than potential at this point.

With the understanding of that's what we were after, pretty happy we played the odds and got our 2016 1st rounder the year before.

Conditions in the VFL aren't great for young forwards, particularly the last two weeks with massive winds at Whitten Oval and Casey - he's shown plenty of glimpses, but needs conditioning and strength.

He still a kid really. Of his 40 AFL games 25 were with the Pies and alot were as a sub which he got on the ground late in the game. 15 games this season has been his biggest year. I watched him closely in the Aints game and he made a lot of good position but he got burned a bit (like Watts earlier in the year). Great to see him keep his chin up and continue to work hard.

He's a class above in the VFL. Pretty rabid when he goes back too, constant pressure from him

Salem looked good, bit off the pace to start in the development side, but every time he ****ed up, he made sure to get back for a second effort or to impact the next contest. King did some good things, played well in the ruck.

We need Kennedy in the side for his leg speed and defensive pressure
We don't create enough goals from forward half turnovers

Yep, definitely an area for improvement for sure

I'm still disgusted by the umpires from yesterday, a player bites Oliver, and the umpire pays a free and a 50 against him for remonstrating, and when shown the bite marks says "fair enough" and walks off. Even the sandringham player could be heard "why do you think i bit you campaigner". No report, no free kick, nothing. Joke.

Seriously? He got bitten?

Those Sandy types are campaigners.
