2nds The 2016 Casey thread

I heard there were about 15 senior players with a virus during the week.

Pretty sure Jones, Vince and Watts had it - not sure about anyone else though.

Its one of those things youd never want as an excuse, but youd have to think it would affect team perfomance

Saw Jake Lovett play out at Casey today. I like the boy. Good size already, looks a bit like Mitch White. Took some great grabs and was involved in a number of plays. Awesome team lifting set shot goal in the last after demanding the ball from his teammate. Beautiful left hoof on him aswel. His inside work is his strong suit so he's obviously being played out of position at the moment similar to how they're managing neal-bullen, but was impressed to see his short burst speed, confident hands and good kicking skills. Reminded me a bit of a young jack trengove.

Calling it early, he'll be signed up by the Dees at the end of the year and will play 200 games in the red and blue.

A lot of the Phantom drafts I've looked at have him going undrafted or a rookie pick.

You may want rethink the 200 game one
My idea he highly likely to be missed in the draft
Jake a rippa game wish him all the best

See Fitz kicked 4 and Mitch White was named best. The match reports consistently mention how good he is one on one. Would be good to see him get a couple of games this season. It's a joke that Dawes is getting picked ahead of Fitz. He is going to leave at seasons end and so he should. Why would you stay at a club where a spud continually is getting picked in your position despite you killing it at the level below...
How did Toump and Spence go Stabler?

Toump was knocked around like a billiard ball and never returned for the second half. Spence took a few grabs but was largely ineffective around the grounds.

Fitzy will leave the Dees and go on to flourish at another club, like Stefan Martin. For a man of fitzpatricks height to kick a running goal with three bounces like he did is pretty special. Dissapointing roosy can't find a role for him.

Side note; thought JKH showed a lot today with a number of fierce tackles and pressure on the ball carrier.

My like was for the JKH part not the Toumpas getting KO'd again.

If we'd traded Fitzpatrick out a few years ago we'd have received a first rounder for him. Now we'll be lucky to get a fourth. Hope he stays because we have SFA KPP depth.

I said we should have traded him at the end of 2013 and I was laughed at, now it looks stupid to have him still sitting in the reserves with no value at all

???

Don't reckon we'd ever be in the ballpark for a first-rounder at any stage of Fitzy's career.

He was looking really good in 2013 despite playing in a garbage team. Kicked a couple of bags, looked incredibly mobile for a player of his size, had a bit of x-factor. A team like Freo would definitely have been keen after losing the grand final that year IMO.

In what world, he was a third round player playing like it, this year he might be a playing like a second rounder, but we wouldn't get on for him. Is he better than Frost?

It looks stupid because he should be playing at AFL level.

Fitz would not even get close to Freo's best 22 ... I like him, and think he's got promise but there's absolutely no way he'd ever demand a first round draft pick if we traded him.

? I reckon he would get a gig for freo for sure

I agree, his pace makes him a bloody hard matchup in the forward half but the coaching staffs don't like him
He should be replacing Dawes but since kicked 3 goals last week he won't be getting dropped at least until round 17 2016.

Fitz is a great key position depth player.

Depth.
He's 200cm, super athletic and great overhead. I agree with your statement if you take out the word depth. We should be investing games into him. It's just a joke that we are playing Dawes ahead of him.
