Yeah, I don't think he would be if they had an in form Cloke with a couple of competent back ups. I think they'd be developing him more like Weideman in that situation rather than having to develop him at the the top level.
I don't think Sam is 4 years away, probably a couple of games this year, in and out of the side next year and consistent in the senior side in his 3rd year. That's my guess anyway.

I understand their reality, I was more suggesting (or trying to) I would think their preference would've been to develop Moore like we're able to develop Weideman and not have to play him as early as they did. I haven't seen a lot of Moore this year so if he already looks AFL ready then that's fine but it's not my expectation for Weideman which is admittedly a semi-educated guess going on commentary of those who've been watching Casey (including you) and seeing how our forward line is functioning this year. Essentially, I can see it taking Weideman longer to play regular AFL football than Moore because our forward line is better.

I'd say he will debut this year and become regular next year.

It also gets to a point where delaying them playing senior footy will hinder development more than help.

He stays closer to home a bit and obviously the VFL will be a lot less running, but I don't think he has a problem with it. Can probably find out how much time he spent on the bench and stuff if you'd want?

It's not really important to me but could be interesting. Don't worry about it if it's much of a hassle though.

Darcy Moore does alright despite being a rake, size isn't the be all end all.

I'd argue that Moore looks to have more core strength than Weideman at this stage. He's been in the system 12 months longer and has 2 preaseasons under his belt.

You also wonder whether Collingwood might prefer that he was playing VFL for a while longer, but for their of decent options.

That's because they used the stats from the Northern Blues statisticians. The stats posted are from Champion data who do the games on Monday, and they have different interpretations to what a tackle is.

Moore looks a player but he is in one of the most dysfunctional forward lines in the AFL
Not his fault just too much on the shoulders of a kid especially when scores from the back half are so vital you need forwards who win contests

Nobody said get him in now, just that he could come in and contribute later in the season if his form continues the way it is now.

I would guess its either a sponsorship thing, only pumping up the AFL product, or the fact that DT is based off more basic stats.

Dream team stats are simple to calculate and only take into account basic stats such as kicks, handballs, tackles etc....

Supercoach scores are much more ambiguous and use stats such as disposal efficiency and clangers, which aren't recorded for VFL games. Its basically a massive pain in the ass to calculate SC, so CD won't do it if they don't have to.

Each club does their own custom stats, but yeah CD doesn't go into much detail.
