How's Dunn looked so far in the pre-season? Strikes me as the perfect candidate for a surprise 95+ average in supercoach. 22 games in each of the last 2 seasons. Won't get tagged in defense due to guys like Lumumba and Salem. Has averaged 82, 84 and 82 in the last 3 seasons in a team that wasn't really competitive. Reading training reports from today's scratch match, he got a bit of the ball and played as the link man from defense.

I don't know what it is about him, but I'm very interested in tracking his pre-season as a potential break-out candidate. I think you guys will improve and be a lot more competitive this season (I think you guys will have a similar season to what St Kilda had last year) which will only be a good thing for his scoring.

Would really appreciate thoughts from you guys

Similar to St Kilda last year? we finished above the on the ladder ffs

Sam Frost guys, what is the likely hood of him playing regularly early and woudl he be worth a dip. He only played 3 games last year. Why was this?
Thankyou.
Will no doubt be the most popular no.3 ruck option in the country. I would say this is the best way to play him, at least to start.

Ta for reply.
Currie or Grmely will be pushing for most popular I wonder? Was he injured for most of last year of just too small?
Thankyou in advance!

Injured. Toe injury which kept him out for all but 3 games. I am toying with the idea of chucking Frost in the forward line bench and using him as a dpp swap player with some one in the ruck.
The thing frost has going for him is if he's ready to go then he will play. Highly rated at the club.

Thanks again for your time mate.
Hes expansive but he may be worth it just for his job security. I don't mind getting expensive rookies if they are guarenteed to play, especially in that crappy R3 spot LOL

What is the general concensus on Tom Bugg? Role? Preseason injuries?

I think he was a waste as a tagger at GWS and if playing hbf/wing can go 85+.

Not sure if trolling or ignorant but given we finished above St Kilda last season, it's fair to say the bar for 2016 will be set a tad higher than the Saints' 2015 season.

As for Dunn, I would anticipate a similar average. His role is not conducive to being a regularly high SC scorer and I'd say that is unlikely to change dramatically. I wouldn't read too much into match sims at training with limited numbers. Wait for NAB to get an indication.

It's still guesswork but training is hinting that he will be freed up. He is fast and can find the ball. HBF/mid rotation is my guess and security should be pretty good. As smokeys go you could do a lot worse. Whether he's worth the risk at 320K is the question.

Again I would wait for further hints in NAB, particularly Week 3 as the club will be playing its best 22 and roles should be clear and defined.

Probably ignorance. Everyone seems to think Melbourne finished bottom 2 last year.

Understandable. Unless you're watching us with interest, we did a passable impression of a bottom two side on enough occasions to fool the average viewer.

Dunn is our primary lock-down defender and McDonald is emerging as the big rebounder. Also look to us having the ball end up in our defensive 50 much less this season. I wouldn't think Dunn would score much higher than he has previously.

Thoughts on Brayshaw? Fairly expensive at $353,300, but I'm kinda tempted by him.

Also, for the posters discussing Anderson earlier on, he'll definitely be playing for us. Looks like he'll be rotating between half forward and midfield. Looked very sharp in pre-season, I'd be jumping on him if I were you guys.

Uninterrupted pre-season which is something he didn't have this time last year and still finished fifth in the RS.

Gus often has an impact but it isn't necessarily from a tonne of possession so whether he's the best SC option at this stage of his career I'm not sure. I can however almost guarantee that he won't have a case of second year blues, and he definitely should improve upon his 65 average. But he will have down weeks.

I think there are better options for Melbourne mid PODs such as Viney or Tyson, granted they are more expensive. But kudos if you take the plunge on Gus. It wouldn't surprise me if it paid off.

Cheers for the response. I'm also considering Tyson, he was a great POD a couple of seasons ago for me in my draft league, but he declined big time last season from memory which has put me off him a little. I love the way Brayshaw goes about it, the main thing I'm concerned about right now is whether or not it's too soon for him to have a big impact in SC. At the moment it's between Brayshaw and Josh Kelly (GWS).

Tyson was carrying knee issues most of last season, so may be an option this year. I'd back Brayshaw to average well above what he did last year, but probably not enough to really cash in on - May make you $100k sort of thing.

Right, cheers. Reckon I'll hold off on him.

Surely you don't think he can crack top ten mids this year?
He's backline, will end up premo by year end.

Just got back from watching in the flesh, he's gone up a gear.

He's a talent no doubt. Sorry, so sure I was that he was mid only.:thumbsu:
Think he's def only. And with how thin defensive stocks are this year he's definitely worth the roll. He'll be a premo if he doesn't get hurt again.

Had eyes all over him last year. I agree with you. I just don't have the balls to pick him up at his price pre season.
Def only is correct just looked. 400K
How and what were his injuries last year? Hammy problems no? Scares me even further :fire:
