Had eyes all over him last year. I agree with you. I just don't have the balls to pick him up at his price pre season.
Def only is correct just looked. 400K
How and what were his injuries last year? Hammy problems no? Scares me even further :fire:
Pinged one hammy then the other. Came back late and played well though. Had a full preseason too.

so tempting atm
He's my biggest POD this year, locked him in as my first defender picked. I had him last year, got burned a bit due to his injuries but I still thought "he'll be a great pick again next year". I believe if fit he will get at least 90 average. I know the coaches want the ball in his hands whenever possible so hopefully he can stay fit and give me a nice edge on other teams.

I agree he's a massive risk, but the rest of my team is pretty standard so I'm happy to take a chance on him.

Same. I'm hoping he remains a bit of a hidden gem but the NAB may let the cat out of the bag depending on how much he plays.

Great thoughts Vineyy. Having a standard team does give you the balls to go different in at least one spot! :p

I've got Salem and Petracca in my side, but that's it for the Dee's at the moment.

You could probably consider Viney and Gawn as PODs, but I wouldn't recommend going any further than that.

Tyson may make you some money, but he's not going to be a top 8 mid at the end of the year I don't think.

I'm back for another year.

Supercoach Team Name: Punchy Demons
2015 Total Score: 50,472
2015 Total Rank: 2,036

I was in the BF Melb Div 1 comp last year

Can anyone give me a rundown on Vandebergs likely role this season? Will he see more minutes in the midfield?

Read that he was in your top 3-4 players in the last intra-club, along with dominating some stoppage drills at training. Also think I read that he didn't leave the club over the off-season and continued to put in work in the gym.

Seems a driven guy who wants to improve. Thoughts?

He's one I'm looking forward to. He has been flying in the pre season. And he didn't have much of one last year.
I'm thinking he'll spend a bit more time in the middle this year but will rotate through half forward. Not really on my SuperCoach radar unless he puts up huge NAB numbers.

Cheers for the swift reply! Sounds like good signs. Have a soft spot for him after him playing really well as a first year rookie.

He wasn't on my radar until I did some deeper analysis on him. Check it out here - http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/2016-forwards.1119675/page-29#post-43073768

Cheers. Nice analysis. I think we'll win more games this year and he'll have natural improvement. So maybe he should be watched closely in NAB. Definitely worth a look in draft formats.

I do think he'll be a good player, but he's probably capped at a low 90s average unless we get lots of injuries that sees playing much more as a genuine mid. I'd need to be confident that he was going higher than that to get him as I think there are cheaper guys with a higher ceiling; e.g. Libba and B Crouch.

Except those guys aren't DPPs. The appeal of Vanders is he can slot into the forwardline and churn out midfield type scores.

But I'm with you on the risk attached pending on how much he plays HFF. I really hope to see him played a lot more in the middle this season as Vince, Viney and Jones are relatively undersized as a trio. Venders definitely ain't.

Interesting analysis btw Souup :thumbsu: Food for thought.

Fair call. I'm looking at Bird for that reason and maybe I should be considering Vanders as well.

Bird is a lock for mine for that reason.

Anyone jumping on the Watts rollercoaster?

Just the four Melbourne players of interest to me:
Gawn (obvious)
Hogan (not sure why more people arent liking him this year? Will be massive IMO top 5 forward potentially)
Petracca (obvious)
Salem (injuries have me hesitant despite potential).

Wingard to explode this year. Ill be taking him over Franklin and Martin.

Tyson was carrying knee issues most of last season, so may be an option this year. I'd back Brayshaw to average well above what he did last year, but probably not enough to really cash in on - May make you $100k sort of thing.

Sorry to go back on this, but who would you guys pick to average the highest in your midfield between Tyson/Viney/Brayshaw and possibly Trengove now based on the news?

Tyson had a great 2014 but struggled with injuries in 2015. We all know how good he can be, has he had a strong pre-season? Someone is delisting him our keeper league and I have my eyes all over him...

Viney looks the most likely of that bunch to break out. He finished the season on fire and hasn't missed a beat all pre season.
Tyson is definitely an unknown, has the potential to go full premo but I think there's too much risk.
Brayshaw, see my thoughts on Tyson (DPP is nice though). I'd honestly look at Vandenburg over Brayshaw, I think he will average more.
Trengove has never been a great scorer for SuperCoach, and I doubt he will play early. Could be a good downgrade option come the buy rounds.

Sorry this isnt for super coach, we are playing a keeper league in UF with DT like scoring.

I've had Barlow and Montagna move to my forward line so a little light on mids now:confused:

Tyson was one of the few being delisted that really caught my eye. Has Tyson had a full PS? no injuries or major niggles?
