I'm starting with Gawn, B Ken, and Salem as a POD and breakout contender. Also have one Mitch King as a captains loophole.

Love the VDB pick above, couldn't fit him into my side as I think Hall just looked to offer better value in that part of my team structure. I honestly believe VDB could average 90 this season which would make him a great pick.
i really wanted to go VDB but he's a bit injury prone and risky overall. But he could go big.

I only went with Gawn in the end, with Petracca to be a downgrade.

I went with Sheridan over Salem but I can easily see him killing it in the first few rounds.

Rough on Kennedy at 187, Petracca at 123. Both surer in my eyes than Oliver who may struggle to play 4 quarters

Agreed. Sorry, Petracca is the best Melbourne option, but seeing as I don't think he'll have a price rise until round 6 or 7 at the earliest, I won't start with him.

BenKen isn't a bad choice either, although I havnt started with him. I've got too many 200k rookies in my side this year.

I think we'll see Petracca R4, maybe R3 if we start poorly/he starts brilliantly as he did yesterday and injuries hit someone else. Lack of price rise a concern, but the hype makes me think he might score highly enough to be worth keeping as the bottom rookie. BenKen is a big risk, because he honesty might not score at all going off his bursts in the NAB.

Just tinkered some more and need a 200k mid in for M9 - Oliver, Parish, or even Crowley? Your thoughts?

Oliver, hands down. I presume you have Mills and Gresham already?

With regard to Petracca, a lot of people are starting the season with him, which will save you a trade at some point. My philosophy though, is that you don't bank any profit until you make a trade, so having some solid downgrade options for rounds 6-10 are the key to making money.

I'll get rid of Menadue or Kerridge at that point, bank 100k+, and be guaranteed that the kid I bring in will play games and make me more money later on.

Yes and yes. Went with Oliver in the end, but there's something about him that puts me off a bit.

He'll be fine mate. When he's not getting contested footy, he's making tackles.

Will kick goals and will score well in SC.

His biggest concern is getting rested by Roos because he's so young, even if he's playing well.

Even if his form is scratchy, I can see us giving Frost a good crack at it. I think he'll be fine for the first 6-8 weeks at a minimum.

Do you still have this view? :( I'll be disappointed if he isn't given a chance to redeem himself against Essendon.

It may come down to structure. I think we went too tall against GWS with both Pedersen and Frost, and overcrowding the forward 50 was to Hogan's detriment.

That said, historically Roos has made minimal changes after a win so I think the odds are in favour of Frost playing against Essendon.

Once Petracca is ready (estimate Round 4) he could be very much in the firing line.

I'm kind of hoping Fyfe is out this week, not because I wish him any ill, but to force my hand in a trade: Fyfe > Priddus, then I can afford Gresham > Oliver.

2213 here. Had several players fail to fire inc. Shaw, Gibson, Houli, B. Crouch, and Barlow. Didn't have Libba or Rich for some reason :/

2182 for me. My uber midfield of Danger, Fyfe, Pendles, GAJ and Rockliff didn't exactly kill it out of the gates. I also dropped out Oliver to fit Dea in last week after Hartley was left out. Woosha has picked him this week.

I did the same. Spewing.
BenKenn on the bench last week made me sick too!
Kinda handy that Hartley started a week after blokes like Dea, Brown as we can just make the cash on one and flick him for Hartley after round 3.

My thoughts exactly, though I'm contemplating moving on Dea and Gresham early so I can get Oliver in there before he goes up. But that's 3 trades before round 3, just rejigging some rookies. ******* Woosha!

Yeah stiff.
I didn't start with Gresham or Oliver but I def think Olly should get in pre bubble.
I'll hold this week as team selection was fairly predictable.
Certainly need a bit more from my stacked midfield though (which includes my FWD line as 90% of them are also mids!!)

Yep, I've got Barlow (sucked hairy ballbags) and Dahlhaus (a little disappointing) up forward, then with Fyfe, Pendles, Rockliff and Shaw underperforming, I have no idea how I did as well as I did. If they all turn it around this week, I'll blow the roof off this muvva!

Yeah Barlow for me too.
Dusty stunk it up also but Hall, Wingard and Libba really saved me.
