Loved: the whole day. Edwards and Houli keeping us in the game early on
Hated: not just this game. the crows stare. So much made of it, though not the fault of the club as the media lapped it up. Made it into a contributing factor for the crows finals wins.
Also why our song wasn't played in its entirety when we came out? From memory it was the crows/phil walsh montage.
Didn't mind: the short burst of light showers that dusted the ground.

I learnt there's lots of bitter flogs around who like complaining about s**t.

Footy is awesome, if you don't like it why are you here?

Too right mate. moaning about the umps or the venue or whatever and all it really is is bitter cos the Big Cat devoured the Crow.

Most people happy to recognise that the stand out team of the finals are the Premiers but some salt encrusted flogs lurking in the undergrowth.

Watch footy do you?
Any time Dusty went near the footy Adelaide players went to him like moths to a flame.
If Dusty got it, which he often did, he released players who were in the clear, why were they in the clear? because all the Adelaide players were trying to stop Dusty.

That's insightful and yet not really of any consequence. Houli was the best Tiger on the ground when the game was there to win, Crouch the best Crow. Dusty was excellent, but clear third to those two.

Liked: Teaching my daughter that it's OK to cry.

Learned: Richmond have the most (hidden) supporters in the AFL.

Went to a Freo/Rich game last year and there were about 14,000 people there. (Where were you all then?) All of a sudden 'nah mate I've been a Tiger supporter all me' life. I'm calling BS.

Hated: That I had to call BS. Ruined what should have been a great day,

No clearly you are way too intelligent for me Pieman.
Glad I was able to make your day I feel so important now.
Did you get the irony in that?
Hang on. Are you arguing with a Bulldogs supporter? hmmm Bulldogs break drought last year, Tigers this... nah there's no AFL plan to prop up the Melbourne clubs.. no. not at all...

Liked - Happy for a few people around me who have supported Richmond for a long time
Learnt - The AFL had a narrative for Richmond to win like Bulldogs last year ie. both grand finals were fixed.
Hated - Season over. Umpires. MCG grand final unfairness.

Liked: I enjoyed watching Richmond win the GF, and Richo interviewing the players after the game, that was very enjoyable. I would've liked either side to win, I was more supporting Adelaide, but happy for Richmond.
Disliked: I personally really didn't enjoy the game at all. Fairly low intensity after the first quarter, didn't really feel like a grand final, kind of like 2015 (although I obviously enjoyed that).

The moment a scrub fringe player from Adelaide player was trash talking Danger I knew that it would result in bad karma for the Crows. Talking as if you've already won the flag usually ends up with pie all over your face.
Talks s**t then goes out and puts in a worst on ground performance and his team get run over and were basically uncompetetive for 3 quarters in the biggest game of their lives :$

Leaned:

GF Winner Last 5 Years:
Richmond
Western Bulldogs
Hawks
Hawks
Hawks

GF Runner Ups:

West Coast

Fremantle

The odds on that must be in the millions...

Ground Control... we have just lost cabin pressure... Huston... we have a problem.

What a sook. Umpiring huh?
Are you illiterate or just stupid and only read the first half of sentences? I said Richmond were the better team and clearly deserved the win. But the umpiring in the first half was atrocious. From that you get "what a sook, umpiring huh". You are the floggiest of flogs.

Did you quote the wrong post? I haven't said the phrase "second to the ball" ever.
It was interesting that when the shower of rain hit ..in early part of second Qtr. Adelaide did in fact get to the ball first but fumbled and Richmond swept the ball away. Second half Adelaide simply gave in and showed no inclination to fight back. Continued to fumble however.

Like: It's an even competition, our game is still the greatest game in the world. It has it's flaws and the bizarro world that is the AFL do their best to over sanitise it and corrupt it, but the game itself is too big for the likes of Gil and his cronies to ruin completely.

Learnt : If Richmond can win the flag, anything is possible. Awards are on the way to extinction as their relevance is being diluted by the midfield centric media.
The MCG proved once again that the Grand Final must never be moved ever!

Hated : The continual tampering of the rules, what's next? No tackling? Gil's gobbledygook is very annoying, they will "paradigm shift" him right out the door one day... The MRP (it's now out of control with one set of rules for H&A and Finals) Okay, then make it so. Clear the slate for finals. This clash strip business gets me wild every year and i will never stop hating it, especially WHITE away strips. The Brownlow is a midfield centric award, i do not believe it is really indicative of who is the best player in the competition. the Norm Smith medal was totally wrong and proof the media all crack a fat when they see Martin. Houli douli things need to change!

The Grand Final is an event and must always remain at the MCG no matter who plays, but teams that qualify for finals above another team after 22 rounds must play finals at their home ground as an advantage to make the Grand Final in the first place. Tigers scored big time with this. Finished 4th and played every final at home! The AFL must act on this.
The Grand Final is sacrosanct, i am quite happy to meet the Tigers at the MCG in a Grand Final, but if you finish higher you must have some sort of advantage in the semi finals surely? If not, then start the finals by pulling the teams out of a hat for scheduling and forget the H&A positions ? ( now we all know that won't happen)
GWS will be there again next season and you can bet your left knacker they will play a home final at Spotless in front of 20k, IMO every chance that will be against Essendon and no one will bat an eye lid! If Geelong are scheduled to play Essendon there will be an uproar if it's scheduled at Simonds stadium!
If Geelong finish above a team (any team) then they must play their semi final at home. People do own TV's!

Liked - Richmond. Huge win. I was in Abbotsford yesterday and it was madness. Great atmosphere. Two years running we've seen a club break their drought. Great for the game.

Learnt - The same style that the WB employed was used successfully this year. I learnt that the WB couldn't replicate in 2017, will Richmond be able to next year?

Adelaide lack the key ingredient - the basics. Pressure, tackling, defensive running, the things that don't appear on a highlight reel. Got to find it in 2018.

The tall forward structure looks gone. Cue the medium sized mobile forward line that does everything as well as kick goals.

Hated - The way Adelaide capitulated. A quarter time lead and then rolled over. Probably up there with the worst efforts in a GF.

Bring back Peter Sassegum

He'd be loving the Tiger celebrations - PS kept the faith during the dark years

Well done, just a huge resounding well done to DH, the Tiger coaching staff players and the entire Tiger Army for ticking fat through the tough times on their way to the ultimate success :thumbsu:

Liked - The Killers, they actually did a pretty great job, the midnight oil cover was a nice touch and then after the game getting riewoldt to come up and sing was pretty special.

Learnt - looking at the last two grand final winners literally anyone can win it, playing tough contested footy always stands up in the big games.

Hated - The way Adelaide just rolled over were uncompetetive for at least least half the game maybe more.

Liked: The Killers pre-game performance.
The atmosphere at the MCG. Hearing both sets of supporters in full voice at a packed MCG was pretty awesome.

Learned: The team that wants it more generally wins the game on GF day.

Hated: The result.
Sitting next to a teenaged male Crows supporter who went from cheering on his team to repeatedly yelling “* the Vics!” in the second half as the margin blew out. You can support your team without saying stuff like that.
Having to continually get up so the 4 mid-20’s Crows supporters in my row could individually go to the toilet and/or bar at least 10 times during the game (as in while the fans was in progress).
Having one of those same idiots deliberately block my view for a good 30 seconds and try and start something after I told him to just stay at the bar if he wasn’t interested in watching the game.
