I don't care how efficient Mitchell was, I'd rather half of his posies were shared among our players.

This debacle and the subsequent denial of culpability is the carbon copy of the time Bucks let Gablett have leather poisoning against us a couple of years ago, back then he did eventually admit to being wrong few days later.....
This discussion could go around in circles but you could also argue that you can't keep the opposition possessionless. So it may as well be the person who is doing the least amount of damage that is getting it for them.
The Ablett one is a bit different in that he does create with his possessions.

I really don't understand how someone can come out and say players win matches not coaches.

We beat a side by 3 goals.. that had a lot missing. Yes we were outstanding in the 2nd half.. but agst what.. an avg side.

A taste of things to come for our next coach in waiting.. yes play that style of game.. that open and free flowing style.. not out of desperation like Buckley.. but for the right reasons.

So to summarise, when we are playing badly, Bucks should quit. When we go well, it doesn't mean anything, Bucks should still quit? Next week, hoping we have a win, am guessing the theme will be, "It's Brisbane, this doesn't mean anything. Bucks should quit".

Season is still alive.
It is Brisbane.. so yes.. doesn't mean much.

True, but season is actually still alive.

The overall negativity on this board is astounding. I understand the frustrations, but it's over the top. Nothing has changed for years which is simply why I rarely bother posting on this board.

We attack our own worse than most.

Side by side doesn't have much meaning here unfortunately...

I thought some of your comments in the match day thread were a little disrespectful.

Mate.. go and bother someone else. Healthy authentic people realise authenticity in others. You want to take things out of context to suit yourself.. then go and connect yourself to fake people.

I was expecting to win and we did which is great but I thought we should have been able to handle them from the first bounce comfortably.

This is there bottom out season and with the players they had missing it's a performance while exhilarating in the end pretty much showed in one game the inconsistent nature we've come to expect under Bucks.

While it's great to finally beat the hawks after all this time I'm not convinced what we saw after 1/4 time will become our baseline standard of performance and game style week in week out and until it does we'll continue to waste the talent at our disposal.

I'm hoping last night was a turning point and not a false dawn. I loved it when the coach ripped into them at quarter time and seeing the player's response was encouraging.

I need to see this on a consistent basis before I'm comfortable that we're turning the corner.

It doesn't matter that the opposition was insipid (that's what people are claiming anyway), we need wins from somewhere to get confidence.

Even if Buckley does coach well.. we can get so much more from other coaches.

We played agst pensioners and newbies last night.. and barely got over the line.

That's drawing a longbow.

Right now Bucks is what we have and I'm uncertain that a magician/messiah exists that could arrive and magically transform what we have.

Very true.

There's 2 ways to look at it. The team is bottoming out and are (slowly) learning how to dig themselves out of this hole, or that it's another false dawn.

Yep.
People interpret things to suit their personal biases, just human nature.
I do it, people do it.

So if someone hates Buckley, they have self orgasms in the first quarter full of self indulgent superiority; then second quarter settle a bit more thinking the game is done, so this spirit is nothing really Buckley still worst human being ever to grace Collingwood; third quarter, Buckley is still crap Hawthorn aren't any good; last quarter cracks still there, Hawthorn old blah blah blah still Buckleys fault.

Human nature is human nature.

It's actually quite fascinating. For the first time in a long while I'm actually really quite intrigued and excited about what our future holds.. A decent amt of games in a lot of our players right now.. but that galvanization seems to elude us.. there are glimpses of it though.. and those glimpses are really quite electric.

Perfectly said, think a few were on very good terms with themselves at quarter time and devastated at full time.A bit sad really

It's what I saw last night man. Some sunshine filtering through the cracks. Now that I said that they'll probably go ahead and break my heart again next week...
