When are we playing? That's how much interest I have in Buckley coached sides.
I've missed three weeks of games while out of the country.
Didn't once feel the need to look up the results or watch the games live via Foxtel Go.
I did follow and watch live the F1 though. So I still have interest in sport, just not Collingwood.

My guess is some timekeeper / orange boy has had a $2 bet on a game they weren't involved in. Followed by (in fine print) that some players are on two strikes after using a loop hole to avoid other strikes but on review are good to go and not as serious as the aforementioned time keeper who has brought the game into disrepute.

It will be interesting to see how many supporters make the trip, I can't imagine many people would bother wasting their time now yet another season has gone down the drain.

Not Collingwood related, someone from elsewhere stepping down
Being serious, wonder if it is about the senior executive who has had an affair with a younger woman that works with the AFL.

EDIT - beaten to it by BJ (pun intended)

To be honest, my bigger concern is that Buckley coaches out the year but refuses to play kids.

There are also a number of mid-tier players that we need to find out about.

Already this week Bucks has opted to play Blair and Wells. If this is the tone for the rest of the year, then it is going to make life difficult for the next coach as he is going to have to make decision on players he won't know much about at senior level.
I agree. This was my concern earlier this week when I felt that he was a dead man walking. However my bigger concern is that the club is waiting on the Review by Peter Murphy, which will endorse their reappointment of Bucks.

I was advised earlier this week by a friend that Buckley "resigned" several weeks ago but the club would not accept it. This is not the sign of a club who wants to get rid of their coach. The board genuinely do not want to sack Bucks. I feel that the CEO will go, the recruiting men will go as will the assistants with the exception of one, but Bucks will be reappointed for 2 years. I hope this is wrong.

I think it is time for a wholesale change, starting with Bucks and finishing with the CEO. I would only keep him if due diligence has been done on all the prospective coaches and they deemed that out of the available candidates Bucks was still the best candidate. I would not keep him based on his work and outcomes to date.

Personal take.

That was part of what made MM so special because they saw him as a father figure and would go to war for him. I think he loved that they were MM men and not clubmen. Overall it worked for him!

Buckley on the other hand appears, at least on the outside, to have won those players over for more culturally sound reasons. Those players will go to war for him not because they see him as a father figure, but because they see him as a peer.

Ultimately the MM way is more likely to garner success, IMO, but we saw the consequences of cutting the head off the snake. I think it will be different when Buckley leaves, but like you there can be no doubt that if individuals remain loyal to him and not the club post move then they go with him.
Anyone remember the 'would you like to see us lose or win games' thread?

This is a game I'd love to see us lose to hasten Buckley's exit from the club.

Just offloaded a gorilla on The Suns to take it out.

Wish me luck.
Admit it, 'Offloaded a gorilla' is how the bourgeoise say "I rubbed one out in anticipation of a loss".

There is strong very reliable mail that earlier this week, the Board asked Buckley to step down however he declined. Just think this through for a moment. If true, what does that truly say about Buckley? I have questioned his authentic honor in the past but this is bordering on delusional, if true. Almost everyone with a balanced mindset can see that his current role is untenable. Probably even McGuire. Here is the chance to demonstrate a degree of dignity, if only for the cameras.

Buckley is starting to remind me of Sylvester the cat clawing onto the carpet as he is removed from Tweety Pie. Has he no dignity?
I note the repetition of 'if true'. Also, I feel compelled to note that some people 'with a balanced mindset' might form another view to yours. Just sayin'. Does that make them unbalanced?

I happen to agree with you that Bucks will go. But I dont understand the need to cast this discussion as being between those who are 'balanced' versus those who are 'delusional'.

It has been rumored that I am the worlds greatest lover. If true, logic would suggest that I am inordinately well endowed. Just sayin. If true.

Hang on I thought I started that rumour. But it also said that you had an erotic obsession with svelte, buoyant waterfowl.\

76ers, Tiger Woods.
Geez Ed got super defensive on the Buckley subject tonight, just acted like a child really, amongst his tantrum he said Buckley trusts everyone at Collingwood and everyone is working incredibly hard. Said the season isn't over, and Buckley could absolutely be coaching next year.

He made out like it's just this year we've been putrid, I don't think he understands we've been on a steady decline for years now, or just refuses to accept it.

When asked what would you tell the 70k members his quote " I just tell them what I tell everyone", no mother****** you don't give the members the same brush off line you give everyone.

What a ******* muppet.

This so much.

If I had to say who I think we need to know about desperately in the remains of the season my priorities would be

Ramsay
Aish
Broomhead

All three I am totally up in the air about, and we cant afford that at this stage.

Then probably

Cox
Scharenberg
Wills

And opportunities to start learning about

Kirby
Daicos

where possible.

Of that list only Schaz is in the team this weekend.
I'm afraid Nathan will coach for his existence and not blood the kids. I agree with both of you. We should be looking at everyone so an informed list decision can be made.

What pissed me off is when he said the board was elected by the members like it was some sort of democracy.
