Geez Ed got super defensive on the Buckley subject tonight, just acted like a child really, amongst his tantrum he said Buckley trusts everyone at Collingwood and everyone is working incredibly hard. Said the season isn't over, and Buckley could absolutely be coaching next year.

He made out like it's just this year we've been putrid, I don't think he understands we've been on a steady decline for years now, or just refuses to accept it.

When asked what would you tell the 70k members his quote " I just tell them what I tell everyone", no mother****** you don't give the members the same brush off line you give everyone.

What a ******* muppet.

Ed has been there too long.

That said, why isn't he allowed to be as passionate, defensive and abrasive as he wishes?
Many here act as if they are the final arbiter on all things Collingwood, so why can't Ed claim the same thing.

(With the knowledge he is the final arbiter of all things Collingwood )

I heard his interview and too me was giving the big finger to quite a few people.

All very comical in its way
was classical Ed, didn't take a backward step and teed off on the press reveling in the clubs demise.
well done Ed. what do people want him to say when cornered like that?

**** me surely Ed bloody understands that a change must happen at years end. Although I am even more worried about this now after reading a herald sun title this evening regarding Ed's 'Shocked and Appalled' at the media hype on Buck's position this week...oh please give me a break FFS is he secretly a Carlton supporter and trying to destroy us..

Interesting your post juxtaposed next to Daves.

There's irony in a like you got.

But these days, it's the little things that amuse me.

(in a good way ofcourse)

"Until after the club review is complete" A couple of weeks ago the line was that Buckley's tenure was in no way part of the independent not really independent review. Now the goalposts have shifted again, why am I not surprised...

Lets just call this "review" for what it is, simply a front, a last gasp attempt to placate the members, members who I don't think Ed values very highly anyway, it has no substance and is not independent.

"If there's one bloke we'll look after, it's that bloke" - quoted from our president speaking of his love child.

The delusion and boys club culture at this club is worse than the so called "rat pack" culture they've tried to eradicate over the last 6yrs.

Absolutely shambolic that we are being led by such selfish individuals.

Bucks has had 6 bloody years to prove himself.

Doubt he show anything for rest of the season that be any different. That could save his Job.

IF Ed Believes that then he is the Wrong Person in Charge of the Club

Bucks is a club legend so I can understand why Eddie wants to send Bucks out on the right note but like you said Dave, Eddie is too emotionally involved which is why he signed up Bucks in the 1st place. Bucks is his "love child" so to speak. The signing of Bucks to start off with was a big mistake. All Bucks had was a 2 year apprenticeship under MM. Bucks needed more experience as an assistant especially at another club and then taken a senior coaching role at another club. Bucks never won a premiership as a player so I think Ed wanted Bucks to win a premiership as a coach and as we know this will never happen.

And? I don't get what you are saying, it is that we aren't the worst side in the AFL, if that is the case then I agree with you, though I thought we were aiming higher than just not winning a wooden spoon.

Our season is over in that we wont be playing finals.

Eddie will find it easier to divorce his wife than sack Buckley. It's disgraceful how one has 6 years of continuous failure and there is still uncertainty if a new deal will be offered.

I think Eddie knows the time might be coming because the old Eddie would have straight out said he is our coach and the right man to take the club forward. He didn't this time. This reminds me of when he was saying he expected Mick to honor his contract all year in 2011 and with about 6 or 7 games we were playing interstate, he did an interview with SEN I think before the game and his tune changed and with Ed you can tell because he is always very passionate.

When he is cornered by those plebs who are loving their lives at the moment by adding fuel to the fire at every opportunity with our current situation, I expect our president to say what Eddie said. A president shouldn't say anything differently because it would be a lack of professionalism on his behalf by not defending the coach publicly, who is still under contract for 7 more weeks. I am sure internally it will be a lot different.

It's better for us to finish low enough where we can get a top 4 pick and draft Sutherland from now. It makes me really sad to say that.
