It's not like our best teams (1990 & 2010) played attractive footy - they just got the job doneDo not care how we win at the moment as long as it's winning, the pretty stuff can wait till later
I remember some very good teams that played pretty football, but when it came to finals not good enough,no tough enoughIt's not like our best teams (1990 & 2010) played attractive footy - they just got the job done
Oh yeah I know we all have the scars to prove it 1970 right through to 1990I remember some very good teams that played pretty football, but when it came to finals not good enough,no tough enough
I can just remember 66, thought 90 would never happenOh yeah I know we all have the scars to prove it 1970 right through to 1990

Who have you up set now with your lovely sense of humour doodlesI'm starting to think you don't rate Bucks much as a coach Gimpy.
Springvale has Asian cuisineI try not to think about folk who drink Venezuelan tea and eat obscure scones and attend protests to save the whale and heritage tree.. when all they want to do is pick pocket your cigs given the chance. People should concentrate on being good.. rather than walk down Brunswick st window shopping for antique cutlery.. when they should know it's actually rusted.
Pretty much. Contrast our game style to that of the 1989 grand final1990, there wasn't really any outstanding team that year, we were the last one standing.
Jock McHale available for next season?
Obviously you havent tried looking for work recentlyI keep reading about the word 'experience', who on here had experience in their first job?
Every career change I had was due to someone giving me the opportunity based on other skills I brought and not based on experience.
The one that scarred me was 1973 Prelim. I was just a kid. I was there. That side was brilliant but brittle. I believe that 1970 probably cost us several real cracks including the years 71-74...and it's ghost reared its head in the last quarter of the 77 flag quest'66, '70 teams were both skilled and tough enough (same with '64 and 2002) Sometimes stuff just happens that you can't beat on the day and you get beaten by a better side on the day.
'64 A back pocket player followed his man to a contest and kicked a winning goal (his only goal of the year) Back pockets in '64 played defence, they never went forward!
'66 Barry Breen
'70 Tuddy and McKenna knocked each other rotten b4 half time, remember McKenna had 5 goals to half time but played concussed in the second half.
'77 Carman gets himself reported (he was good for 4 goals a game)
'79 Harmesey knocks it back from the carpark! (if he wasn't such a good bloke I'd hate him for that!)
'02 Rocca's goal would have put us 2.5 goals up and we would have gone on with it, straight up the other end for a 12 point turn around
1980 we just weren't good enough, same in '81 (though Chocco tried to will us over the line) and the same in 2003 (Brisbane were a great side). So I can realise when we're just batting against insurmountable odds. The '64-'90 legacy just comes down to luck in so many instances.
no such thing as getting your first job with no experience now.Yes has been awhile.
And best team in finals, really tackled and pressured well.1990, there wasn't really any outstanding team that year, we were the last one standing.
Dont knowThen how do you get jobs if no experience?
Think it still happens but depends on which type of jobs.
