I'd trade him for R. Laird. He is a defender. Wouldn't you???? But that is not the point, he does not have the same value as Laird.

The question is, Why would we trade him full stop!!!!!!
We dont need any defenders. We have a great bunch and anther half dozen in the NEAFL who cant make the team.

Hewett has almost no Trade value anyway

I don't think we will offer massive amounts of money to players like Casboult and Martin.

The salary cap increases 20% next year but then only 1-2% for each of the following years. The club would want to have cap space available at the end of 2018 to re-sign players like Hewett, Lloyd, Naismith, Newman, Papley and any other young player that emerges.

I think it would be dangerous to max out the cap in 2018 bringing in a few expensive players on long term contracts. Because then we will struggle to manage the cap in the following five years.

I can see other clubs getting themselves into trouble by thinking they need to throw lots of money around immediately rather than having a six year perspective.

Alright change of topic, rumours are that Stringer isn't very happy at the Doggies right now. Does anyone think he'd fit at the Swans?

He can do some ridiculously impressive things on a field. I get the sense it's a work ethic thing that's seeing him going off the boil currently.

If Stringer was interested in coming to the Swans, you can bet your bottom dollar that the club would not hesitate in getting a deal done.
He may be a "cock" in red, white & blue jumper as you say, but as soon as he puts on a red & white jumper he suddenly becomes a top bloke!;)

Come on man! Everyone on the here knows that's how it works!
