Michael Hibberd, anyone? Or does missing four games (even if he plays out the remainder of the year uninterrupted) just put him too far back?
Would be a chance if he continues his great form since returning.
Soooo good with ball in hand and very reliable defender too.
Would have to be up there with recruit of the year if he keeps on like this.

By Eagles fans I think you mean Sweet Jesus.

I haven't paid much attention to the rucks this year. Gawn injured, Goldy down, NicNat out...
This.

The 3 A grade ruckmen have been out injured or poor in Goldsteins case. Now is just which of the B/C grade ruckmen that can pinch a spot in the AA team

Jacobs is still pretty good. Sandilands is old now but still a multiple All Australian. Martin, Grundy, Mumford... some good ruckmen playing but no real standout.

We're rucking with Vardy and Petrie/Giles/McInnes so will be hoping for a selection in the extended extended squad of 400.

Hard to get in missing 4 games when competing against laird, docherty, yeo all on fire and others like Howe have been great as well.

Yeah I don't disagree with that and like you say, missing 4 games means he's starting from a long way back.
But my comment did say he's a chance, not a certainty.
Docherty and Laird a lock, Yeo ahead of him and Howe also although I do think Howe's last couple of weeks haven't been quite as good as earlier.

How many accumulating small defenders do people think will make the team?

3 key defenders + Rampe + Enright last year.
2 + Gibson + Wood the year before.

I really can't see a team with Docherty, Laird, Hibberd, Yeo, Howe all in it.

Can't argue with this!
Only seen him a couple of times and has looked great!
Is he a by product of the side doing well or is he one of the big reasons for the dramatic turnaround in form from Port?
One of the reasons we've improved. Has added a bit of inside work with his exquisite outside game and right now is our best player.

I tried to make an effective team rather than just listing the highest SC scorers like the rest of the dum dums in this thread. Think it would beat most AA teams.
B: M. Williams Tarrant Grimes
HB: Laird Hurley Docherty
C: Gaff Dangerfield Sloane
HF: Higgins Franklin Greene
F: Turner B. Brown Betts
Foll: Jacobs Cunnington Jo. Kelly
Int: Pendlebury Bontempelli D. Martin Selwood

With no less than 5 North players in the team.

North perform well with an even contribution across the board so it would make sense that some of the best specialist players in the league would be at Arden Street.
I guess that's why you're in the top 2 and challenging for a flag.
