Not really that surprising, I think a lot more rucks have been injured this year as opposed to previous years
Yeah, if Nic Nat and Gawn were running around at full strength, Goldy was playing at his best, all of a sudden it's a deep ruck situation with those three out front and your Jacobs, Martin, Grundy, Kruezer, old Sandi, and even Nank and McEvoy rounding out some serious depth. It's just the very top end has been taken out.

This is the AFL ratings 22 up to round 10

If you relax the selection criteria (i.e. you don't have to select an actual winger on the wing), then the team looks something like this

FB: Yeo - Lever - Howe
HB: Laird - Rance - Hunt
C: Pendlebury - Martin - Ablett
HF: Greene - Franklin - Gray
FF: Betts - Cameron - Kennedy
R: McEvoy - Dangerfield - Sloane
IC: Selwood - Cotchin - Bontempelli - Matera

Don't have too many issues with their team.

Jayden Hunt in a head of Docherty is one.

I'm ok with wingers being selected on the wing. Atkins and Polec have been decent, probably wouldn't be my first choice but not far off it.

Im not sure Robbie gray should even be in our team let alone team of the year.
Port supporters are frustrated that he's clearly playing injured and can't get into the midfield but he's 11th in goals and 2nd in goal assists. He's having a great year as a forward pocket by any standards.

I think afl player ratings just mashed the 'rory' button. No issue with Sloane and laird but atkins has been ordinary and has a terrible haircut
Ordinary? Shouldn't be in that team but has been pretty good for most of the year.

Ryder was massive today.

Is he the best tap in the comp? Just so clean and perfectly weighted.

He's the best all round ruck in the comp IMO. His taps are elite, tackles, great pair of hands and an elite kick both in the field and for goal (although that wasn't shown tonight).

A fit Gawn is still ahead of Ryder by a fair bit IMO.

Polec is slowly building a case to be in the AA squad at the very least. Would be very close to being the best kick in the league

Before the game was rated no.1 wingman in the league. Not sure on what metrics are used but was shown by fox footy. Wouldn't have hurt that tonight either.

Port have a lot of "nearly" guys right now. Polec, Ryder, Ebert, Gray and Dixon are all about the mark without really commanding a position just yet. Gray's a funny one, most Port supporters would say he's well down on form since last year, yet his small forward numbers don't lie.

Also an interesting anomaly that Port have the best defence in the AFL by a fair margin so far, yet have no defenders in the conversation.
