Selwood deserves his place in the squad but I agree that Duncan has had a better year.

If they picked alot of players that have missed games then why not Beams? Not including his injured game he has kicked 20 goals and averaged 28.4 from 18 games with arguably half a dozen games where he was best on. All in a team that won the wooden spoon.

Yeah but clearly it doesn't matter who had a good year for this.
No Mitch Duncan or Clayton Oliver is a mistake surely??!
Duncan has had a brilliant year and probably been Geelongs most consistent midfielder. Averaged 29 disposals and right near the top of the league for score involvements. He was better than Selwood and played all games, unlike Selwood who missed a decent chunk but has somehow made it in. Has been a key reason why the Cats finished top 4 and definitely deserves to be in the squad.
Oliver has been been phenomenal for a second year player. Averaged 30 touches, 5th in the league for disposals, 2nd in the league for contested possessions, 1st in the league for handballs, 4th in the league for tackles, 5th in the league for clearances. Those stats put him ahead of some other midfielders clearly selected off reputation and not output.

Scully did a great job in playing and doing a lot of heavy lifting when GWS were smashed by injury, playing entire halves without rest, but he is not squad worthy.

completely agree. He's been good but no where near AA good. Oliver is a detestable Tomato but has had a damn good year
