Next premiership side- fill in and work backwards

B. Jonson, Maibaum, Aliir
HTB. Jones, Melican, Lloyd
C. Florent, Heeney , Mills,
Hf. Ronke, McCartin, Dawson
F. Papley, Reid Hayward
foll Cameron, Parker, Hewett
Int. Ling, Stoddard,

Very rushed, and not too worried about positions
So you don't rate Hewett? I haven't seen anything to suggest he won't make the grade. I'm assuming you're resigned to Lloyd leaving? Parker is only a year and a half older than Jones, so it's a very specific timeframe you've pencilled in for our next flag :D Other than those I don't see anything I disagree with strongly, but I've added a few names onto your team sheet that could still be there.

Still a couple of players short. But hopefully Blakey is one. Then we just need to unearth one more player over the next three to four years and we are a shoe in for the premiership. Or just add Buddy to the forward line :D how's that for boundless optimism following a devestating loss?

I’m just throwing a few names there not even trying to be definitive.

Happy to put buddy back in and then I think you would need to trade a few, maybe a parker or sign and trade Lloyd etc

Didn’t throw a guy like Maibum in because yet to play, ditto Dawson (only 1 game)

He had a nice moment yesterday breaking the Lines

I always thought he wasn’t bad forward

Speed is wasted at times
That's a fare criticism.

I like him in the midfield though, his kicks lead to a goal or two a game. While Papley, Ronke & Hayward are better forwards than he was

I think him being moved around in position hasn't let him settle which has derailed his development.

That's fair regarding the omissions, but why do you think Parker needs to be traded? Or Lloyd for that matter? I understand the need to get quality players in, don't get me wrong, but why trade a young quality player for a chance at a young quality player? I wouldn't do it, but I think for your goal it would be a much better option to trade Rampe than Parker.

Lloyd I think wants to go that’s all,

Parker would net us something back, (plus just forgot him )

Watching the Swans struggle to contain a single tall against Gold coast has me wanting Moore. Considering his body keeps failing him his price is dropping but I'm not keen on a bloke who can't get onto the park. Second round pick should get him, we can even offer them the pick they gave us for Murray!

Haha, that's fair. I've moved to being on board with trading Lloyd, especially if we can get a pick around 20 for him.

Parker I think we should keep. Even when he's out of form he's still good.

Seriously question but would it be difficult trying to get players in with the way play and on a slight decline falling off?

I don’t think we are the destination club we once were
We would get them in, our hands have been tied with the recruitment of Tippet and Buddy. I think we've drafted enough young lads in and it's time to have a crack.

The kind of player we'd want would be sold on himself making the difference. Not that I see many of that pedigree that are on the table. Kidding ourselves if we think a few cast offs from other clubs will get our midfield into Premiership contention. We need two seriously top end talent types, good in traffic, agile, preferably elite kicks.

Not really, Richmond added in Caddy and Prestia and became a solid midfield group.

FMD if you don't think Prestia is top end talent, I'm not sure what to say. Caddy not exactly second rate either - though he has taken a while to get there. Is he on 500k? Prestia on 650+? Those two blokes would solve just about every problem we have. :D

Can’t believe caddy’s been to 3 clubs, always looked solid

Yeah Prestia is definitely above average but bringing in a Brayshaw type would be no different.
