The best chance for the NPL clubs to get A-league clubs are in the frst two rounds, come the quarters and semis they are way to burned out (the scheduling doesn't help them too when teams are dealing with NPL finals) and the A-league teams start to get fitter and stronger.
I don't mind the idea floating around that it should just become a pre-season comp. Through the down side to that is that it gets treated like a "pre-season" comp where it's not taken seriously enough.
