Seems like a kick in the guts to the little guys. Can't see it being overturned even though the officials gave Canberra the all clear to make the substitution.

I've never seen it before. This type of penalty normally used for playing unregistered or suspended players.

It's a weird one, in the NBA if you try and call a timeout when you don't have one it's a tech foul. AFL with the extra player it's a free kick.

I'd have thought the 4th official would tell them they don't have another sub window but if that's not the rule then I don't know.

Canberra United are back in the hunt for a top 4 spot after the points deduction has been overturned.

Final round before the playoffs and the big game has to be Melbourne City at home to Canberra United on Sunday, whoever wins plays finals. Canberra's form has been pretty good after a slow start to the season, they have gone 6-2-2 in their last 10, but Melbourne City have only lost once at home this season. I think Canberra can cause an upset, they will need to because I don't think a draw would be good enough with Melbourne Victory playing the Wellington on Saturday, although they will go into their game knowing they need to do to jump into 4th, or 3rd.

Well the Vuck girls put themselves in a pickle now need to rely on City winning or a draw tomorrow

Canberra were down 3-1 with 10 to go and got it back to 3-3 going into extra time, but couldn't find the winner they needed to qualify for the finals. The The Canberra girls miss out on goal difference, only 2 goals.
