Welcome back to the most prestigious award on the footy calendar. Another year, another MVP. The consistency of Zach Merrett wrenched the title back from young defender Jordan Ridley in 2021, making him a four-time champion. Will we see Andrew McGrath take the crown for the first time, or will Darcy Parish make the best of his permanent midfield role? Will Jake Stringer put together a full season of dominance, or will we have another first-time winner? Will I continue to speak in question? Yes? ???
This year, the winner receives a half-scratched scratchie from Avondale Heights Tatts, a signed Jarrod Atkinson guernsey, and a gift card for a shop that closed 4 years ago.
THE RULES
As you may well know, after every Essendon match in the AFL™ Toyota™ 2022™ Premiership™ Season™ there will be an MVP thread opened up where you will vote for who you thought were the standout players on the ground. The voting method is very simple. Following this template;
5. BEST ON GROUND
4. 2nd best
3. 3rd best
2. 4th best
1. 5th best
Votes will close around 6-7pm on Thursday or thereabouts. Votes will be tallied and the top 5 vote-getters will be our top 5 players for that week.
PLEASE keep in mind that you need to clearly label who gets the 5 votes and so on, just to make it easier for the votes to be counted. If your votes do not follow that format they may not be counted.
