I really have no opinions on whether we took Banfield or not, he was always projected as a very late/rookie list spot player.

My 'soft melts' are at being one of the worst teams in competition history and didn't take more of a weed whacker to the list to open up more slots for picks.

In don't think there is much between Farrow and Banfield form talent.

It both is and isn’t.

To not be able to find one or two more is poor management, but when so much of the list is on their rookie or first default extension, and we’ve culled so many in the last two to three years, there’s only so many guys.

A lot of inevitable decisions coming that means higher turnover in the near future.

Realistically was Banfield going to be any better than say Dev? I get that he was a father/son but when you take the romanticism away of that, I'm not sure if he was going to project as a consistent AFL quality mid. I may be completely wrong though.

Realistically, players in the 40s rarely stick around long enough in a crap team to make it to their next flag.

We’d be best using this rookie spot on Blamires or Mitchell. Someone who can help short term.

They didn’t rate all three highly enough. We fans probably disagree. Two of the three would have been ok, but they made a clear decision not to make that extra list spot/provide guarantees, so this isn’t a great surprise

We handled the list opening portion poorly. We handled the draft portion well.
