I'm excited about Duursma, CDT and Lindsay being added to Bo, Shanahan, Gross, H.Reid, A.Reid, McCarthy, Grego, Maric, Hough, Davis, Dewar, Newton, Ginbey & Hewett over the last 4 drafts.

It’s been explained time repeatedly they bid on the kids in pure preference order, not to push this or that agenda.

Should have gone harder if they only wanted Addinsall, suspect they’re fairly content with either Addinsall or Lindsay hence the move to jump Hawks and a very keen Bulldogs.

Ok, ok if we get my guy Noah Hibbins- Hargreaves all is forgiven. I just think where we are in our rebuild we would be prioritising potential so it’s really keeping the likes of Crippa and Batman on the list I’m mad at today.

The club may just not have rated the potential of Evans and Banfield that high - happy to risk rookie-ing them or letting them go it seems. The media and the romanticism of the father son selection might have had us rating him as more of a sure pick up than the club thought.

The Addinsall thing still has me - did we maybe just risk giving up the Flyin compo selection for the chance at him because we rated him so highly? It was it actually dud math with GCs ability to match on points?

Tom Mitchell is bankable in that he’s in the demographic of the only people who still visit a bank.

i.e. cooked old retirees with bad heads, shoulders, knees, and toes. His body is done in ways we’ve never seen a body be done before.

Put Tom Mitchell in a pressurised aircraft twice a fortnight and he'd be shrivelled like a raisin by round 20.

Ok. That clearly wasn't the plan at all, based off the fact that WCE indeed didn't free up the spots for those 2.

Clarke said it himself: they'd take those 2 if they made it to the rookie list and they didn't.

You may not like the plan, and that's entirely fine, but that obviously was the plan going in and not some random **** up because someone couldn't count list spots

The problem here is the stock placed in the opinions and judgement of the Eagles recruitment and list management staff vs the opinions and judgements of other clubs.

If Banfield and Evans were on the list right now they might only be a 10 - 15% chance of playing 50 plus games for us from 2026 onwards, but that is more than 10x the chances that any of Cripps, Barnett, Johnston and Owies have. That makes it a bad decision.

The bad decision, in 20/20 hindsight, was getting Owies in to begin with but he's just come off a 30+ goal season and was basically free.

Barnett should've been given 2 year, not 2 but that was the old mob.

I've said numerous times I thought Cripps should've been rookies/retired but that's clearly not part of their plan so I'll just have to live with it

Only player I'm bummed about missing out on is Evans. Looked like a player that had a bit of X factor and could be a diamond in the rough. Will be interesting to see how he goes over at the Lions.

This mini Allen looks like he may be a similar type so not all is lost.
