The 6pm Simpsons Episodes Are not getting cut...stop the panic

'Bout time channel 10 thought of something to do with the 6 o'clock time slot.

Airing the same episodes night after night was getting a bit tedious.

More news though will turn away a lot of viewers IMO.

Not necessarily, they have made pilots of the 90 minute thing; but it does now seem as though there has been a bit of gun jumping by some media and by some of us (including myself).

They gave it to Channel Nine, who, in true Nine fashion, are playing it at random intervals at 2am.

Ten would probably end up giving Friends a rehash if they really wanted to lose the Simpsons.

But again, doesn't seem like they're heading down that road yet.

Channel 10's hour news at the moment is ordinary - how are they going to get 90 minutes worth? The only decent thing is that the sport is more in depth. The rest is rubbish. This is how it currently goes:

5 - 5:10 Main news
5:10 - 5:20 Some more local news, promo telling us what is coming
5:25 About 5 minutes of world news, another promo. Fluff piece like news on Britney spears
5:30 More cross promotion
5:35 Finance person and promo
5:40 Sport
5:50 Useless weather person getting thier mug on TV for 5 minutes and mentioning the weather briefly

The weather people spend more time telling us what location they are at than actually doing the weather.

Agree! The one in Sydney is the worst by a country mile at that. He has such a punchable head too - and he thinks he is a comedian.
 
oh sigh, where would the world be without the simpsons?

the odd thing is i dont know where and when the new episodes are being shown

are they still making new episodes?

its been some time since i bothered watching the simpsons at 6pm

i tend to watch the french news on sbs 2 - to speed up my learning, i figured i might as well use that same part of my brain that stores simpsons quotes or songs lyrics with another language

or i watch global village where they do docos about taming eagles in kyrgyzstan :thumbsu:
