From a quick google, major news events of the 90s:
1990- Mandela released from prison
1992- Barcelona Olympics
1993- Clinton becomes Prez
1995- Oklahoma bombing + OJ Found not guilty
1996- Port Arthur
1997- Princess Diana dies

And Geelong ****ing loses. Alot.

One of the downsides of the 90s was I missed seeing some of the great 80s Aussie bands live, saw James Reyne and Jimmy Barnes solo shows live though.

Saw Barnesy around the time this song was hitting the charts and he didn't disappoint.

I was there too.. About 8 rows back. I wasn't really a fan of him though I liked some of his music but that was one hell of a show. Helped by one of the very best days weather wise. I clearly remember how beautiful that afternoon/evening was.

You bastard :p I gotta admit I'm a huge fan. I was about half way back, ground level of the GSS, but at least dead centre from the stage.
Wanna Be startin something made me get up and drag my mate to the aisle and how good was Smooth Criminal. Disappointed he didnt do Bad tho.

My Girlfriend's parents bought us tickets. They were Gold and IIRC around 200 bucks. I dont remember any particular songs but I was blown away by how good he was. Actually I remember 'What about us'. He was a brilliant musician and writer.

They Dont really care about us? Or Earth song ;). But yeah Earth song was epic, with the crane going over the crowd.

IIRC he closed the show with Heal the World. That song can go EAD.

I have a Wacko Jacko claim to fame, I worked in Belgravia (the posh part of London) and guess who was staying in a fancy hotel down the road,

Hundreds of Michael Jackson fans were camped outside his hotel day and night, just waiting for a glimpse of him.

One afternoon we heard all this screaming and we looked out the window, Jacko was heading off in a limo with hundreds of fans chasing him.

It was like The Beatles, it was mental.

It wasn't even his peak period, this was like 2001, Thriller, Bad and even Dangerous were long gone but he was still attracting the fans.

I was aware of Michael Jackson by the time You Are Not Alone was charting (circa xmas '95), and was living next to an Aboriginal Community at the time (many friends at school, took the same bus stop). I remember talking to my mum about how scarily white he looked, and when she said he used to look a lot better, more like my Koori friends, I was totally blown away. It was one of the most incredible things I'd heard up until then.

Darren Hayes (a superfan when young) saw him live in Brisbane in '87, and decided to ultimately pursue an entertainment career following that performance.

I saw them at Memorial Drive in 1988, it tipped down all night but it was an amazing gig. I had the biggest crush on Michael Hutchence, he had such charisma.

A guy I went to high school with said his older sister went out with Hutchence back when he lived in Perth before INXS took off.

The Wonder Years

That was another great tv show from the 90s, The Goldbergs is like an 80s version of that show but nowhere near as good.

That game was for the simpletons.

Any real basketball person was busy playing NBA Live 95.

edit - I'll never forget one of my mates hitting a half court 3 pointer with Shaq - fading away. Odds of that going in must have been like 1000 to 1.

Great game, Would always borrow it on school holidays.
