Melrose was good in a bit of a camp so bad it's good kind of way. Legit never seen a full episode of Friends.
Yeah, seemed to start out like a piss take which was kind of funny, but then realised it really was a soap opera and then nothing good was to come of it.

Norman Gunston interviewing Paul McCartney was great, I think he was the only overseas celebrity that was in on the joke.

The other overseas celebrities thought he was a genuine reporter.

Chris Farley's interview of Paul McCartney back in the 90s was great too.

He asked the big questions like "Do you remember when you were in The Beatles?"

That's why McCartney is my favourite Beatle, he's down to earth and can have a laugh, unlike John Lennon who has remained aloof since 1980.

Not really seen much of them. Before my time but seen a few replays in early 80's at that time of what he did during the 70's.
Even I knew as a kid, the spots on his face were not real but funny how many did not.
Apparently the one with Ali is one I should watch. See If I can find it.
I remember he did a situation comedy with Ruth Cracknell that was really good for it's time. Do not remember it's name. Might have even been done in the 1990's.

Norman Gunston was before my time too but this footage of him at Gough Whitlam's dismissal in 1975 is legendary.

A momentous time in Australia's history and you have this clown making fun of it all.

He tries to interview Bob Hawke and he says "this is a bit too serious for this mate"

Gary McDonald went on to do Mother and Son with Ruth Cracknell which is one of the best sitcoms Australia has produced.

They tried to bring back Norman Gunston for a live show in the 90s but it didn't get past the first episode after Gary McDonald broke down.

It was just too daunting for him to live up to being Norman Gunston again, when he was Norman back in the 70s he was young and dumb.

A lot tougher to do that in your 30s or 40s when you have a shitload more insecurities and self awareness.

The 90s produced a better ABC sitcom than Mother and Son.

Millennials probably wouldn't find Lano and Woodley all that funny, but to us old Gen Xers they were a hoot.

Easily his best interview with any overseas celeb was this one, try not to laugh at this classic...:

They are not very funny....lol
But am amused you find them a hoot.
There are more cute persons than funny.

Can't believe I'm the only fan of Lano and Woodley, apart from Roy & HG I can't think of a better Australian comedy duo.

Bit of a niche act really….Much like the Umbilical brothers.

I didn't mind Flacco & The Sandman's Gap in the Show, on Paul McDermotts' Good News Week.

I think I've said it before but Newsradio was an underrated 90s sitcom. it went downhill though when Phil Hartman got murdered by his wife in 1998.

That also spelt the end for Troy McClure, Lionel Hutz and several other great Simpsons characters.

Not good for Phil Hartman obviously but it's good Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure ended when they did. The surviving cast sound so old in the dogshit episodes they do now.

Yeah they were a good comedy duo.

The best morning crew on Triple J was when Mikey Robbins, Paul McDermott and the Sandman were the hosts back in 1998

Martin Molloy.

Another good comedy duo, their compilation albums back in the 90s were popular, The Brown Album and Eat Your Peas.

I'd still rate Lano and Woodley ahead of them though.

Lano and Woodley won a Perrier FWIW, didn't they?

Yeah they did back in 1994, Hannah Gadsby won one too recently which shows how much comedy has gone downhill since then.
