Wow. Almost thought typewriter was just about gone in early 80's anyway.

Quick google:
"From the early 2000s onwards, computers started dominating. All the manufacturers of office typewriters stopped production, except us. 'Till 2009, we used to produce 10,000 to 12,000 machines a year. But this might be the last chance for typewriter

Buying gamer magazines for a tenner to get the dermo versions and flogging the hell out of them. When you didn't have much money the thought of blowing it all on a game that was going to be rubbish was anxiety in spades. Resident Evil 2, legitmately scary.

Still have a lot of my old Playstation magazines, they were great.

Video games were social in the 90s. Sure I burned through hours at a time playing side scrolling Super Mario Bros but who didn't enjoy riding their bike over to someone's house with a bunch of controllers for a Goldeneye or Mortal Kombat session? Sitting in a fancy office chair wearing a headset sounds more like working in a call centre than playing video games with friends.

They still are, it’s just done online now.

And people still go to their mates house to play. The availability of online play just means they can play together more often.

Oh man I loved those logos.

Remember those sticker books - I always tried so hard to stick them inside the lines [emoji16]

I recall learning to type on a typewriter. They would have been phased out tho very soon after that.
Yeah we had typewriter class in HS but also computing. Mustve been right on that phase in/out.

I remember everyone being so excited about being able to check live NBA scores straight from America [emoji44]

Oh yeah dunno if anyone remembers the basketball card phase??

I still have all my 1993-94 bball cards [emoji23]

Something about seeing those logos on the news after the games makes me have good memories about the good old days about footy.

This was my families landline phone until we finally upgraded to push button iirc in the late 90s.

We had a phone like that too but then we got a cordless push button phone in the 90s which we thought was pretty fancy, being able to make and take phone calls in different rooms of the house rather than in the one place was a real game changer.

I also got my first mobile phone in the late 90s but the reception for it was so poor I hardly ever used it and still mostly used the landline.

Thread's now talking about a phone designed in the late 1970s. Kinda not the same as talking about that primo batch of dutch imports swirling 'round those Docklands parties, is it now?

and then when you made a spelling mistake, you put this white out stuff/tape over the affected word, go back, line up and made the correction.

I used to go into my old man's office on weekends to use his secretary's typewriter to do my essays and she had one of those whizz bang ones that could white out the word by itself.

Pro Basketball newspaper. Boxscores and summaries etc, just a week after the events. But it was great.

where did you get that kit from? I'd love some Glory kappa gear, particularly this jacket

That's pretty cool.

I have one of those 98/99 shirts. All yours for a mere KM 1000. :)

I wish I had the original away shirt from 1996. White and grey stripes with about 97 different sponsors all over it. Classic cobbled together at the last minute effort.
