The Wallabies were a lot better back in the 90s.

John Eales was the best 2nd rower in the world and he could kick for goal as well.

The Savage Garden singles were very ubiquitous here in the late 90s/early 00s, you'd have to live under a rock to not be familiar with them. Their 2 albums had a little filler, but were otherwise stacked with consistently good singles. Hayes when solo made one of the best ever Australian albums in The Tension and the Spark.

Affirmation is my favourite Australian single of the 2000s: 100 best Australian singles: 2000s

Savage Garden got a fair bit of airplay in the States when I was there in 1999 along with Silverchair who were huge over there at the time.

Winning that World Cup in 1991 meant the death of rugger on the ABC. It's been on commercial channels ever since then. Rugby went officially pro after the 95 WC too it was a huge decade of change for the code.

At least the commercial channels had the good sense to recruit Gordon Bray from the ABC when they got the rugby coverage, wouldn't be the same watching rugby without his dulcet tones.

Have still got their original album- the one with "I want you". Got some great songs on there, Break me Shake me probably my fave.

90s pop artists like Savage Garden were pissy but their songs were at least real songs.

2019's pop stars like Ed Sheeran and Adele dish up really lame stuff. If Savage Garden was McDonald's then Adele is two-minute noodles that was cooked on Monday and is rotting in the garbage on Wednesday.

Ah silverchair. This music video gave me nightmares as a kid, that damn creepy lady's face

The late 70s early 80s babies proved they are thier own generation with the way they reacted to silverchair. I remember seeing them pile out of stage 3 at 95 bdo Sydney.

They looked like Zombtfied freaks in some sort of worship anorexia and hair culture. It's almost like the silverchair crowd were still Comotosed in deep grief after kobains successful attempt at pushing both triggers on his double barrel shotgun at the same time, almost up there with epstiens effort

Offspring and tumbleweed attracted Humans.

Hooning was good in the ninties

Lots of toys available cheap. Cops had no technogy slow cars. Petrol and tyres cheap and plenty of work to fund serious hoon habit.

Shopping centre decor of the '90's was the last of the good quality centres.

Now, they're fashion outlets with a shit ton more concrete than what there was back then.

Plus, all tenancies look the same to me.

Yep, everything has this cookie-cutter appearance now. This even applies to fast food restaurants.

I was just a kid in the 90s (born in 1990) but what I associate the most with this time period was morning cartoons, Agro's and Cheez TV. Are morning cartoons still a thing these days? As a bullied kid in primary school they were my get me up before a shitty day.
